The trade that bothers me the most is this:
February 24 2005
Traded guard Moochie Norris, forward Vin Baker and a 2006 second-round pick to the Houston Rockets
for forward Maurice Taylor; traded guard Jamison Brewer and center Nazr Mohammed to the San Antonio
Spurs for forward Malik Rose and conditional first-round picks in 2005 and 2006.
.

We traded away a solid center, who was rebounding very well, especially offensively, and got back an
undersized PF and 2 late-ass picks.

This trade lead to the infamous Jerom James signing. If we never traded Nazzy we wouldn't have signed
JJ which was a desperation move, and we would have had Nazzy and EC as our centers.

The Kurt Thomas trade seemed like a steal to me at the time, but Q has sucked so incredibly bad this
year it really hurt us. Plus, our rebounding was so horrible overall, we missed KT's consistancy. I
think his presence could have been big for us. But hindsight is definitely 20/20. I would have done
the deal at that time.

How about the best move was getting LB?

Or maybe the best move was getting Frye?

Most importantly Nazr played hard every night, didn't call himself Nazrbury and listened to his coach.

I expect a Q bounce back this year. Let's not consider that trade a bust just yet. I would have loved to keep KT but if Q can return to form I'm alright with him.

McK1, you are probably right about that. And maybe sweets would have stayed. Or maybe we never do it
at all. Either way we were better off having Nazr instead of Jerome James so it was a bad move.

Not necessarily. If it was Nazzy and filler, maybe a pick is still involved. Either way, I don't have
a problem with that trade. I think Curry is going to be better than the #1 pick. And so do most Eastern conference GMs.

nazr + sweets gets it done. bulls were after nazr for a while and are looking to sign him this summer. they were backed into a corner refusing to budge on the dna test. isiah bid against himself...like an absolute idiot.

we overpaid for curry...the chances are VERY high that chicago will have a better record than us next year too, they're going to swap up.

Yet, while Nazr was here, fans attacked him. The sad part of it is that there were many on this forum who use to proclaim that they would trade the Knicks frontcourt to the Bulls just to get Eddy Curry. Yeah. Just check out this forum history. Thomas rewarded Kurt Thomas with a contract that was attacked until he was traded. As Pat Riley said, there is no satisfying a Knick fan.

forget about nazr the player. he was 10X more valuable last summer and this season as an expiring deal.

what all these transactions tell me is that isiah didn't have a real plan when he got here and he f'ed up. he's doing the exact same thing layden has done, just targetting different type of players.

and ultimately, the record speaks for itself. the public perception of the franchise speaks for itself.

and now, he says that he would make every trade again, but he will also just get lb what he wants...which means isiah's plan has changed again to fit his coach.

dude is all over the place. dolan has created a circus atmosphere in the organization and isiah has not helped it one bit.

The good: dregs for Crawford, parlaying VanHorn through Nazr to D Lee plus a pick still to come, Kurt for Q and Nate (though may have hurt in the short run), drafting Frye, drafting Ariza, grabbing Jackie B and Q2 from the scrap heap, Davis for Jalen (if the draft pick pans out)

The bad but not that important: Jerome J (terrible, but just the MLE), Mo Taylor was just pointless, so was Vin Baker, giving up the 2nd rounder to try to get Doleac back, giving up on Ariza to get a redundant Francis

The ugly: not protecting the picks in the Curry trade, hiring LB (looked good to me at the time but undeniably ugly so far)

And with the 2nd worst record in the NBA, no lottery pick to show for it, a $125MM payroll and a collection of overpriced underachievers, Lord knows we should be so satisfied with the job that Isiah has done since he's been here.

Knicks fans are such ingrates.
