his #'s didn't take a major hit except blocks this year, going from 1.5 to 0.8 in only 1 less minute of play. jvg is not that big a fan of his. so he may be available.

what he does bring: long, athleticism from the 4 spot, can play defense, and block shots in his limited time of 20 mins. he's available and on the outs in his current location which makes him a prime candidate for us.

cons: he's a dolt. his mpg haven't increased throughout his career. and he turned us down in the offseason last year.

so, with lb here, can he play in the system? is he on the radar? and what are you willing to give up for him?

right now, the only trade that works is quentin for stro. i like quentin and would like to see him here next year but would stro make us better?

We want smart players - and why get Slomile with Frye on our radar? Bad move.

let's stop targeting these players who have low basketball IQ.

if we can Stromile back in a Marbury trade, that's a good move. I don't know who else we have the JVG would remotely want.

Does anyone think Houston would want Francis back? Maybe Francis would be ready to accept JVG after Brown.

we have nothing that matches up w/HOU in any trade... we don't need Juwan Howard or Rafer Alston, & other than Yao Ming & TMac, the only players they have that would actually help this franchise are Bobby Sura, Luther Head &, ironically enough, Dikembe Mutombo.

Why is it ironic that a player Zeke traded away would help the franchise? A frontcourt of McDyess, Sweetney, Kurt Thomas, Tim Thomas, Nazr and Deke would be pretty deep and tough.

that's almost the same frontcourt we had when we were swept in 4 games by a far superior Nets team, that didn't have nearly as much depth in their frontcourt... let's not revert back to the "we were better off before we made those dumb trades mentality"... that team wasn't going anywhere either... i'm not trying to defend Isiah's moves, but everyone was in agreement that this team needed to get younger & more athletic after that embarassing showing against the Nets in that playoff series.

still, all those players have proved they are solid pieces. I wouldn't take back all those trades, but if we hadn't traded for Malik Rose or Mo Taylor, we could have kept Nazr and gotten Lee in the second round with the Mo T pick.

no McDyess is huge when considering the front-court that got swept by the Nets.

we were better off in the front-court letting him finish his rehab.
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

you want to backtrack on deals, let's backtrack to the idiotic trade that sent the #7 pick & Marcus Camby to the Nuggets for Antonio McGimp... now there's a trade that set this franchise back a decade if not more in their development when you consider the fact that Camby would be the athletic, run the floor bigman that blocks shots this team is sorely missing, & that #7 pick could have turned out to be Amare Stoudamire if our GM at the time had half a brain.

Ok but how does compounding the mistakes made by Layden equal progress?

i never said it did... i'm just saying backtracking on deals is pointless... let's deal in the NOW & think of ways we can improve this current situation going forward... these constant threads that lament the moves made by Isiah are a waste of time. (not saying that was the original intent of the creator of this thread, but it always seems to progress to that lately)
