"Danny Ainge saying that they are unhappy with Delonte West’s development as their starting point guard."

Too bad for Delonte he doesnt play against Marbury every night. He usually goes for 20/10 on those nights.

I would rather have Marcus Banks and take back a guy or two I have to waive from Sota in a sign and trade for Marbury. Banks would be a beast under LB. He's probably the best defending PG in the NBA. Let he and Crawford battle for minutes there. Isiah is the type of GM to sign Speedy because Larry likes him. Then fail to trade any of his other "assets" then we start the year with NAte, Crawford, Claxton, Marbury and Francis on the roster. Yip te doo

Like i had said from a previous thread down below regardign Speedy claxton:

He has the heart of a lion, decent floor general and doesn't need the ball to dominate..

Typical Larry Brown type player who's very quick with quick hands..

Decent defender and does what is needed to do.. he's also a winner!! Won a ring with the Spurs when he clearly outplayed Kidd in game 5 and 6 while on the floor..

Doesn't have the ego nor the salary like marbury or francis. Still only 28!!

NO TO BANKS!!!

well I did say probably, but Kidd isnt the defender he was before his surgery. He's still great obviously but Banks at this point is a superior athlete. Its no contest overall, but from standpoint of man on man and guarding the dribble cant think of anyone much better than Banks right now. Now he may defend like Artest but he plays PG like Tyron Lue. Still I think he's a cost effective player that would do well under Brown. He plays VERY hard and he's a very athletic player. He can also defend bigger players if you put him out there w/ a guy like Nate or Crawford.

I think a VERY reasonable plan is to add Banks, Jefferies and Reggie Evans, while dumping Jalen, Mo, Marbury and Francis

Delonte is actually one of the best defensive PGs in the league. Ainge always wants a new PG. He should hire LB, they'd be perfect for each other.

we only have 1 MLE... how do you propose we add Banks, Jefferies and Reggie Evans? what would MIN, WAS & DEN gain by signing & trading those guys for the likes of Jalen Rose & Mo T? wouldn't they be better off simply allowing those guys to come off their books in that case? unless we're throwing a pick at them to make the deal appealing, i don't see any match there...

As for Francis, i think there will be teams interested in him over the summer... i can picture him going to DEN for someone like KMart, or perhaps to ATL for Al Harrington in a sign & trade... maybe Reggie Evans can be included as part of that DEN package?

I have no problem with that, in fact I would suggest it. I think you get Banks in a sign and trade for Marbury and take back Troy Hudson and Marko Jaric. You probably wind up giving Hudson his walking papers and eating $30mm whatever.

Offer Reggie the full MLE. I'm pretty sure Den doesnt have bird rights because he was traded in his QO contract year (he was on a 1 year deal).

Maybe you send Mo Taylor's expiring deal for Jefferies and Antonio Daniels.

Francis is simply a mistake and should be dumped for any expiring contract or (please god) moved to a team w/ cap space like the Hawks who are desperate to draw.

There are options. If we have to use picks to get rid of guys that are a problem so be it.

We have Frye, Lee, Butler, Nate, Curry and QWoods. Q1 and Crawford are veteran players but still young also. Plus those trades get your base younger also

we don't have Butler & Q Woods, they're UFA as well... so you have to factor that in... how to you resign those guys & still get those players you want to add? you have to make a choice... can't have Reggie Evans & still hold onto Butler & Q Woods (unless you can somehow get Evans in a sign & trade w/DEN involving Francis)

who's giving Butler and QWoods part of their MLE? We dont have to use the MLE to sign them. They dont have Bird rights but they are eligible for the $15% whatever raise the NBA's CBA allows you to resign players. Steven Hunter started at $2.5mm a year. There was a young 7 footer who was very athleticm blocked a lot of shots and was a good bench player for a 60 win team. Butler's played 13 minutes a game in 55 games for the worst team in the league. He had some nice moments but he's our guy to resign. Worst case is he gets the LLE. Woods is lucky to have a job in this league and he knows it. I'm not worried about losing those guys

agreed, i'd use the LLE on Butler... Woods will have to agree to a veteran's minimum, or else i say goodbye to him... he's a nice kid & i would love to hold onto him, but roster spots are going to be a problem next year, & i think something will be done to bring in an upgrade at the SF during the offseason
