interesting article if your into off season stuff. One interesting thing I got was Mario Ellie wants to coach. He's a tough guy and smart guy. Now, Ellie shouldnt be a head coach, just because he was a player and just because he's black. Remember, according to George "I make $7 mill a year but its the player's greed who lost us the world title" Karl its not fair to the guys who have been assistants for 20 years. What an idiot, but we will save that for another thread.

Its obvious that recent player types are a good way to go when it comes to a rookie coach. They seem to really connect with the players. You cant discount the recent success of guys like Doc Rivers, Nate McMillian and Byron Scott. If Chaney flounders and the Knicks do make a change, I would be all for hiring a guy like Mario.

Mario Elie was a player here in Albany when the Patroons owned the CBA. Probably one of the hardest working players in the league. He should make a good coach. It will be interesting to see what happens to him. I also like the idea that several Knicks are down there in Houston working on their game.
