lb & isiah

- lb: i wouldn't change coming here. i'm thrilled i came here, embarrased by what happened and feel directly responsible for that. i was asked to come here and turn this around and i'm confident we will.

- lb: what's the biggest mistake? well we don't have enough time. i don't want to focus on that. i want to get with isiah and see how we can get better. we're both committed to winning and committed to the knicks. we didn't think it was going to be easy. and i know we have alot of work to do.

- lb: how do you move forward with steph? he's a terrific player. until he got hurt, he was doing everything he possibly could to help us win. i don't have any problems with him. only way he won't be here is if some great player falls out of the woods. i have no problems coaching him.

- lb: about trust between them? i have no problems coaching him and all i asked him to do is to allow him to coach him.

- lb: the fact that we won 23 games and lost 59 was nuts. no player should take responsibility. i think he did everything he possibly could to please me and try to do what's right. i value that and i want to help him become better. when you have difficult times, if you're tough, you'll find ways to fight through it.

- isiah: both surprised and dissapointed about what happened. nobody expected this. we thought that with the players, coach, and myself, we would be able to do a better job. clearly we didn't. i know coach and i are both committed to making it better. rebuilding is a long hard tedius process but at the same time we learned some lessons this year about our players. sometimes the good things don't always show up in the win/loss record.

they cut away...

Isiah went into hiding for months and the best he could do were those non answers?

That must have been one unbelievably controlled press conference.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

Do we really need these silly press conferences? They should just shut up and go away until draft day, then shut up and go away again until next season. I'm sick of these guys.

ya just by the sound of it --- MASSIVE spin job.

not even CLOSE
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

100% agree with you.. they should just shut up already. Go away until the next b-ball event..

if you thought this press conference was a spin job then
lb: how do you move forward with steph? he's a terrific player. until he got hurt, he was doing everything he possibly could to help us win. i don't have any problems with him. only way he won't be here is if some great player falls out of the woods. i have no problems coaching him.

i can't WAIT to hear how jaric and griffin are "great players"...now THAT'S a spin job.

exactly. Marbs is staying. I'd rather give them Franchise for those clowns. Franchise hates it here.
