I would prefer to trade Marbury to Minn for some package of Hassell, Griffin, Banks, but...

If Philly is trying to shake things up, maybe these are possible...

1)Marbury, Frye, Q.Richardson and #1 (SA or Den) for Iverson, Dalembert and L.Williams.

Why - Put Dalembert next to Curry and he covers for Curry's defense and rebounding deficiencies. Iverson gets along with Brown and we rid ourselves of Marbury. We lose the draft pick but Brown doesn't want any more youngsters anyway. The one regret is we will all feel bad for Q.Rich having to go to Marbury's new team.

2)Marbury, Mo Taylor, J.Rose and N.Robinson + #1 (SA or Den) for Iverson, Webber, S.Hunter and K.Ollie.

Why - Although less desirable than first trade, we may not get Iverson without offering Philly cap relief (Webber). Webber, although declining - has good attitude, is professional, and allows us to keep Frye and Curry. Adding Iverson and getting rid of Marbury is positive. S.Hunter is ok off the bench and Brown likes Kevin Ollie so losing Nate might have to be accepted (to get rid of Marbury). Losing Mo Taylor and J.Rose does'nt really impact us, although improves attitude.

Why would Philly want Marbury's baggage to replace AI's? Why wouldn't they simply keep the far better player & let their divisional rival deal w/the strife that Marbury will inevitably bring to the Knicks next season?

i'll say if you maybe took out Mebury & added Francis instead, along w/Frye & the other 1st round pick in the 2nd package, i can maybe see Philly being somewhat interested... otherwise, they have no reason to make the deal cuz both Iverson & Webber are much better players than what they're getting back in return... in order to get Philly to trade AI to NY, you're going to have to give up alot... there's no way Billy King is going to want to watch AI torch the Sixers in a Knicks' uniform unless he's setting up his franchise for a very promising future after making the trade.
