forget what we gave up for him, let's talk about moving forward...

i don't know if we're going to move him but what about this:

curry + spurs #1 for haywood + jeffries + wash #1 (around 18)

or a 3 way

curry to philly
dalembert to washington
haywood + jeffries to ny

i think we can get it done without the picks. i have no problems with that either but we'd still need to get some BEEF b/c frye/sam frontcourt is quite slender and on the weak side.

i wouldn't give up on Curry just yet... give him til the Allstar break next season & then reevaluate him... he came into this season out of shape due to his offseason of health concerns... if he's still in the same boat next year, then it'll be time to cut bait.

I like both trade scenarios. Curry just oozes underachiever for my liking.

eh, thing w/ Curry is he's NOT a max player. He's in the Mo T range. 15/6 and 55% shooting over 28-30 minutes isnt a waste of space. Yes, we want Curry to be a stud, but that downside isnt horrible. Its horrible for what we gave up.. but we just have to have a start over mentality.

curry has zero impact on the other end of the court. zero. 15/6 and 55% is fine and dandy...but this team needs 0/10 and 2blocks.

Tell you what, It may sound crazy, but I would definately do a Curry for a guy like Amare, or JO.....guys that have to come back from major injuries or are injury prone....I would do that....take a chance on a young injured cornerstone....other than that, unless it's a sick deal we can't refuse I may want to see if LB can make Curry develop.

I like the Fish trade a lot because we desperately need the shot-blocking and defense that Sam brings. Jackie will give us some "BEEF." If we get any more beef, Jerome James will just eat it anyway!

NY Times had article where several GM's/scouts/etc all said Curry is better than anyone in draft- if that is the case, would any of them trade a first round pick & filler for Curry?

How about Charlotte? They could take him and send us no salary, just their pick. How about Curry, our two picks for their pick this year & next?

s far as trading Curry- we over paid, and we have to get something decent back.

I'd prefer cheap- don't give me Samual Dalembert because if Phili is looking to trade him, it means he's over paid and probably coming with Chris Webber.

I don't think we should give up on Curry either. He shows enough flashes of getting it to keep around.

also, I think he's untradeable after this season. Maybe next summer if we win 35-40 games and we still want to move him is the time to move him. like you said before, this is a long process. no way Zeke gives up on him after giving up a top three pick and probably a lotto pick next year for this guy.

6 people (4 GMs, 2 scouts - 1 from the Atlantic who said he thought curry was better than anybody in the 05 draft sans Paul) were interviewed out of probably 100 GMs and scouts.

hwy, the optimistic approach is: IT REMAINS TO BE SEEN.

I don't think there's any surefire superstar in this draft. Will Oden be better? no doubt. If we are 23-59 next year, the trade sucked ass. if Larry's magic beans kick in next year and Curry gives us 16ppg 7rpg and 1.5bpg and we win 40... (hey, it's officially the off-season, the time for irrational hopes and dreams! WAHOO!)

4 GM's out of 30.

That is 4 people in a position that they would, based on their statement, be able to trade their number 1 for Curry.

Of course, there was an element of BS to their assertion- and I'd prefer our pick back because, while that player might not be as good as Curry, he'd be paid a ton less and be able to mature with our other young players...
