even though nate is 5-6, his ability to seperate from a defender and his unusual strength for his size gives him unique NBA skills. He is a heart player on a team filled with corpses and I would not trade him..period. I like the synergy i see with him and jamal, i like his effort--he really is a mini dwyane wade and while i dont know if he is starting material, he sure can be used as a sixth man and the third of a 4 guard set.

didn't see many of your praising of Nate threads earlier in the season... but whatever... if you want credit, i'll give it to you... he's definitely an exciting player, sometimes to his detriment... but always fun to watch his shenanigans on the court.

Guys, BRIGGS did get the early lowdown on Nate.

Not everyone knows this but for years BRIGGS, under the name Little Beaver, tag-teamed with Nate's father, the Jamaica Kid.

yeah, i remember you advocating us drafting him... i was in agreement... it's nice to see this kid developing into a legitimate NBA player... earlier in the season, you didn't know what you'd get out of him because of how out of control he was, but now he's learning how to channel all that energy into productive minutes... he still has a ways to go, & could stand to learn a little more humility & alot less of the showboating & complaining to the refs, but i do love his energy & approach to the game... we need more players w/that type of mentality on this team.

Briggs, you should talk about yourself in the third person.

Like: "Briggs Knew nate would pan out! Briggs was right! Briggs only message here today was to say I was right. Sometimes Briggs ain't right, but this one was good! Yeah."

Yup; in some regards he is a mini-wade, but he's nothing like Wade in terms of maturity or basketball IQ and decision making. In terms of physical build, I think he's more like a mini-Lebron or mini-Carmello because of his combination of speed and strength.

I'm glad we covered this base. If were going to go through I-Told-You-So's then how about this one.

I knew the Knicks would play horrible tonite and lose.

Ever since that little erruption with LB (When he said he needs to stop showboating and some people got their panties in a bunch for it) he had a couple of bad games and really started to take off after that. He's been A LOT more in control lately and his defense is improving. He still doesn't approach a shooter aggresively, like David Lee, but like Lee, he competes like a beast. I've been saying it all season. He's a keeper and I like him BETTER than Marbury and Francis.

I agree- Nate the Great's a keeper. He was one of the few players that brought the Knicks some good press this year. He sttill hustles although he has minimized the rah-rah. As long as he gets back on D like he's been doing over the last week or so, Larry should have no probs with him.

We'll see Nate in summer league!
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

That's my main gripe with Nate...He'll score but then his man flys up the court and scores right back. Teams have been doing that to him all year......and he needs to pass to the open man. He leaves guys open and takes tougher shots. Nate could be a big talent in this league.

that's cuz he's too busy posing after he makes a shot to hustle back on D... that's something he better stop doing or else he's always going to be in LB's doghouse.

Nate's the NBA version of a closer. He's a very difficult guard at the end of games because his speed, energy and quickness vs. more fatigued players. We've seen him have some excellent 4th quarters scoring wise. We've seen guys like Boykins, Arenas (early in his career), Gordon, etc. used this way.

Agreed. That's his biggest problem. He sincerely believes that posing before getting back on D' is OK, and so does Kenny Smith apparently. He likes juicing up the crowd, which is great. But his great play is what's juicing up the crowd, not his posing. Sprewells electric dunks electrified the crowds, not his scowling. Nate will learn this, and you know perfectly well that he is. I remember he was going up for a dunk, and this was right after the Q2 360 miss, and at the last second he changed his mind and just layed it in. 1 month ago, he would have gone for the flush, maybe he would have hit it, maybe he would have missed it, and he probably would have soon been on the bench. He went on to continue to have a big game against the Cavs.

Kinda sums up the season and the main argument for Marbury and his desire for freedom. Getting back on transitional defense!
