Turns out he's been on the bench desguised as Ime Udoka. Funny how he takes Sprewells old jersey

FYI...there was an article reciently quoting Houston saying he's thought about coming back. Knicks want him to come back in some way. They need to bring Ewing back so the Knicks curse can be lifted!!!!

If Houston unretires, Isiah majorly blundered, since it's highly unlikely Houston returns as anything more than a 6th man. Isiah could've used the luxury tax clause in the new CBA, saved the organization $40 MM worth of luxury over two years. That was the logical move. Instead, he counted on Houston retiring and used the clause on Jerome Williams, who was forced into retirement because of injuries anyway. I think the organization is going to be trying to do a lot to pursuade Houston not to return to playing, since if he returns before his contract would expire, I think they owe him the whole thing.

That was a bad gamble to make when Isiah was playing with someone else's money.

Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

Solace it's pretty much the same $. Insurance pays allans contract right now (or at least most of it).

If he comes back from being waived and resigned with the Knicks a year later vs. coming back from retirement; it's not even close. Insurance won't be paying the contract if he returns.

^ doesnt matter, its not our money.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

Classic excuse. The money waste here is of ridiculous proportions. Yet, we pay for it in ticket prices.

Hell, if Isiah just wanted to get rid of the money; he could've donated it. At least then Dolan would get a tax write off.

Who gives a darn about the luxary tax??? He STILL counts against the Salary cap, the team needs a smart vet/good influence to be around the young guys. If Houston returns, he wouldn't be close to a 6th man. More like a 15 minute a game player, maybe less. But it's just his presence alone that would be very helpful to the youth. We need to rid ourselves as much of the garbage as we can. H20 would be a nice glass of H20 for this team, no matter how shot he is.

Maybe I'm not understanding what you are saying.

From the article: Houston, with his medical retirement, wouldn't be able to play again until his contract expires after next season, when he will be 36.

The only return Houston should be making is a trip back home after going to the store to buy a soda

I have a question, can the knicks include allen houston's contract in a trade?

That is a good question. Maybe Houston might come back his last year just to be a salary pawn for his beloved knicks. Take one for the team.

Salary pawn? Dude, do you really think Isiah would make a trade involving an expiring contract that benefits the team? Not once has he. The Craw trade a little, and that's it.

Crawford Trade sucked lets face it we are paying Jerome and Crawford doesn't bring much to the table aside from a few games.....

I would much rather have harrington and deke then mo and james at a fraction of the cost
