before i head out to enjoy this beautiful nyc saturday...
how's this for a crackhead offseason -

1. jamal + malik + both #1's for boozer
2. francis + cash for eddie jones + damon stoudamire
3. marbury for banks/mccants, hassel, blount
4. mo + nate for harrington
5. buyout jerome

this would now be our roster:
pg: stoudamire, banks/mccants
sg: eddie jones, quentin
sf: harrington, hassel
pf: boozer, frye
c: eddy, blount, jackie

you want my dealer's #?

We're so screwed.

Just dump salary and work the draft.

Make Eddy Curry spend the summer with Larry Brown.

Jerome is spending the summer at the "top peoples health farm".

Butler is trade fodder. I like him, but sacrifices must be made.

Same for nate. Although I Prefer to keep him.

Marbs must go to the gulag they call the timberwolves. I like a three way with Memphis landing us Eddie Jones.

Francis and butler to the lakers for Oh-Dumb.

Eddy spends the summer with Uncle Larry.

Isiah goes to marriage counseling and a Dale Carnagie class with an emphisis on ethics.

Larry goes to Charm school on the "HolFresh" scholarship.

Boozer? Yuck. Maybe if they give us their #1 and we substitute Q-Rich for Jamal. Otherwise they can keep Boozer!
francis + cash for eddie jones + damon stoudamire
Sounds good.
marbury for banks/mccants, hassel, blount
Sounds good. I'd want to buyout Blount, though. Didn't you tell me just one or two days ago that no team would trade for Steph, though?
mo + nate for harrington
The Hawks would probably do this deal only without Mo T. (The salaries wouldn't need to match.)
buyout jerome
Definitely but only in Oct if he shows up out of shape again.

Boozer may be off the block now that the Jazz are able to see what they have when everybody is on the court and healthy

Steph to Minny is shaky at best.

would love Francis for Jones. Problem is Mephis just spent last off-season razing all the knuckle-heads.

Al said he wants to get back to the play-offs (SFX) crickets

maybe buying out Jerome and a few others
the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

Hmmm. Boozer is putting up 23 and 10 this month and his team has won 8 of 10. If we were to get him, I hope he'd be the tough player on defense his supporters say he is. We know he wouldn't give us the shot-blocking we desperately need, though.

I don't like it... especially when you give so much to get Boozer. Yes, it's a crackhead move. The other moves are less bad. No to Carlos Loozer.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

KEEP JAMAL!!! I don't like Al Harrington either, but if we could get Boozer relatively cheaply, that's a great move.

I would also try to keep Francis, so long as he understands we're committed to winning and think he can be a big part of that.

I also think any sound long-term plan, which would involve getting rid of about 60% of the current roster, has to include getting rid of Eddy Curry. No room for softies!

with trade rumors about iverson you think hes attainable for anyone on our team? you know how him and larry worked it out together and i dont know many guys in the league who play as hard as he plays every night. maybe like a marbury, nate, and a draft pick this season for him? i still think marbury can be a good player in the league, just not under larry brown.

crawfords not being traded.

iverson wouldnt be a good fit IMO. too many scorers already.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I would also try to keep Francis, so long as he understands we're committed to winning and think he can be a big part of that.

i agree with everyone about jamal. he's changed his game and he has shown growth. but i'm not married to anybody on the team. i'm not concerned with the names on the back, just the one on the front. i don't think jamal will get traded but let's examine the deal i proposed...

bucher and others have said boozer could be had for a sg. so i looked down our roster and examined our guards. marbury and francis would not go well with sloan. quentin's trade value is as high as mine...so that leaves jamal. a young, exciting player, that can play both positions, hit big shots, and this year, has showed he receptive to coaching. so you ask, why move him? b/c even tho jamal has progressed nicely, boozer would almost be our best player if he comes here. and he's a pf that can give you minutes at center. he's better than frye, he's better than curry...and he's better than jamal. those 2 #1's, let's be real here, those two #1's are at 21 and a borderline second rounder. the objective is to make the team better, not hold on to favorite players. in fact, i'm afraid utah may laugh at us with this offer. boozer's knock has been his health, but he's healthy now and look at the MONSTER #'s he's putting up on a team trying to make the playoffs, not a team with nothing to play for.

the objective of my crackheaded offseason is to REVAMP the frontline and build around that. you need a good, solid frontline to legitimately win in this league. guards are easier to find. frye can't play any defense, and neither can curry. i'm not sold on harrington either but he would give us another sf/pf guy that's only 26. it also gives us a nice defensive balance throughout the lineup, especially from eddie jones. if mo+nate doesn't get harrington, maybe quentin would...but again, quentin's trade value is in the sh tter. our frontcourt of harrington, boozer, and eddy with frye off the bench are about 24-26 years old. that's not bad.

these combinations of moves do leave us with jalen + eddie as expiring deals to move, as well as lee to combine in another possible deal.

hey, it's for sh t and giggles since the chances of any of these moves happening are slim.

i'm afraid guys like jamal, quentin, and malik are definitely looking better to the coaches...and to us b/c they're buying in and playing hard. jamal has actually helped on the court so he's playing well, but ultimately, everything is magnified and glorified b/c we took the basics of listening to coach and trying hard for granted.
