this was a recap courtesy of a friend of mine:

- Docs taking precautionary measures with LB - he will be back ASAP - likely not coaching tonight though

- BT: what is wrong with Marbury? He just doesnt get it.

- SAS: Marbury has not evolved as a person; he does not know how to say things the right way; he is "sick of hearing his mouth."

- Marbury doesn't think, he reacts

- SAS is mad at Steph and disappointed. He said its time for Marbs to go.

- BT: (quoting Marbs) "I don't care what (LB) thinks..." Marbs will do what he wants to do. ENOUGH is enough

- SAS: LB is going to return and fix this mess. SAS spoke to LB and he quoted LB "I aint going out like this."

- LB left on gurney with oxygen mask; LB not expected to be on bench tonight; stomach ache/acid reflux

- SAS: NY thinks LB is setting the stage to leave; some players and others in org. believe he is setting stage for his departure- not true

- SAS: Marbs states he doesnt think he will be traded, doesnt care what LB wants to hear- Marbs is openly speaking about defying the coach and his teammates don't want him back, "they would not lose sleep," SAS says about his teammates opinion of Stephon

- Steph is mad at SAS; SAS told Steph that his teammates are unhappy with him; the team does not like him as their PG

- If Steph didn't have $57M coming to him, SAS would advise him to shut his mouth or ship him to Utah

- Steph, Jalen and Francis are the main dividers in the lockerroom

- The team is divided in huddles duing time outs, look at Steph, Jalen and Francis

- SAS: If LB walks, it seals the fate of Isiah Thomas (SAS believes LB will come back "with a vengeance")

- SAS: if LB walks, Zeke is done or at least very close to done because from a coaching standpoint, who is going to come in and fix this mess? To fix this, Zeke NEEDS LB.

- BT: JC, (Nate at times) and Malik are showing they bought in - BT: Who would you bring back? Jamal Crawford without a doubt (SAS agrees)

- BT: Who else? Lee (SAS agrees); Q2 (BT says yes/SAS "maybe" not sold); Nate (BT yes/SAS lukewarm); Malik (both say yes b/c of the lockerroom); Q-Rich (Q has earned respect both say)

- BT: there is one guy in the center that they dont know which side he is on...Eddy Curry, BT asks, "which faction?" They don't know... BUT Curry looks lost; looks glazed over

- SAS speaks about Jerome James: JJ is a decent person, smart, good guy - SAS: JJ cares, believe it or not and has no problem with LB. JJ said that he agrees with everything LB says and tells them to do, it's just that the players don't do it.

- Some guards (ie Marbs/Francis) would look and smile at JJ (SAS saw this during the Miami game) as if they were going to get him the ball and then looked away and passed on him or shot

You always come through DJ. Thanks

LB should just look after his health now. Thats more important than the last few games. We'll have 82 more next year and hopefully we might win a few more of those than we have this year.

Anyone wanna start a "Keep the Kids" campaign?

these players are unreal. I'm sorry (holfresh, oohaa, etc) if I come off like an ass but playing a team sport myself these guys disgust me on so many levels. I was happy when we got Marbs, I really thought he could do some things here and would be in a position to succeed. He wasnt in much of a position to suceed... I will certainly say that, but the guy's a jerk. He's a selfish jerk and its damn clear at this point why he's been shipped off from teams and they get immediatly better.

Its just so hipocritical of Marbury to call out Brown for trashing his players to the media and then coming out and saying he's going to do the same thing. You just lose respect for him.

To be honest, if LB and Marbs can work together it is still a very good thing. But if Marbury is going to make this a competition against his team rather than be a part of his team...then this isn't going to work at all. All he is doing is turning people against him in this manner.

Thats why I want the kids back unspoiled. At least the kids should stick together.

I don't think his rants is directed at the players but at Brown....Brown took a shot at Marbs just before those comments came out....He did say earlier in the year that he will respond to Brown anytime Brown spoke about him in the press....

And thats the other thing...I'm not here to defend Marbs or anything like that, he just being a jerk....But how does this entire story come out like it was unprovoked....Larry was behind this latest rant...But it's all feature like it's all Marbs out of the blue....

Here's the thing. Marbs can say whatever he wants. It's a free country. You don't have to like the coach. You don't have to like what he's saying. Imagine the respect level Marbs would have if he had asked in the media for LB to stop bashing him and just left it at that. How many more people would support him.

But when you say "you are going to do what you want", at that moment you are putting yourself ahead of the team. You can't win uless everyone is on the same page and right now are best player is saying that he's not going to be on the same page no matter what. So where does that leave us?
I just hope that people will like me

But Bip, he has done that already...He has said that he thinks more can be accomplished if they spoke about these issues behind closed doors and he hopes that it stops....Then when Larry continued, he later said that he will respond every time Larry does it....

SAS also said that Marbury didn't really mean is like that. (In reference to the Starbury comment) He talked about those who know Steph privately/personally and said all he was trying to convey was this: I'll be back and better next year.

Then went on to say how he's just not a very good speaker. Talks before he thinks (which is clear as day) yaadayaadayaayda

As soon as BT challenged that with the "Marbury not evolving" comment, is when SAS switched gears. Then he mentions how Steph is upset with him etc. He went a step further by saying he was disapointed with Stephons play this season and attitude. And of course they both agreed that he should be shipped out ASAP!

I'm definately with you holfresh...everyone is to blame not just Marbs. That has been my stance all along.

However its just dissapointing to see him continually add fuel to the fire.

My point is that Larry Brown keeps making all sorts of comments. Some of it is clearly used for manipulation.
It just seems like the perfect situation for Marbury to clean up his image and be the bigger man and earn some support instead of hate. I'm not saying he has to suck up to anyone but at the very least use the situation to his advantage and maybe defend a teammate. Maybe even make some comments to support and unify the team if the team is as divided as reported. This could be his first step publically as a leader and back to being "starbury."

He has the skill...all he needs is a publicist.

I agree with fish, and If I sound like an ass, well so be it. I supported marbs from the start, almost to a fault, but this guy is a prick, I am upset, I really looked forward to this season, the rookies, curry, jamal, steph and we came out with this horrible effort this year, and it didn't have to be that bad, the seperate agendas, the selfishness, the lethargic play, the overall garbage we have seen this year.

Tonight we made a struggling bucks team look like world beaters, how many times have we seen that this year? how many times? no pride, no team play, no heart... Different coach on the sidelines, same result...again when are we going to start blaming the players?
Anyone who sits around and waits for the lottery to better themselves, either in real life or in sports, Is a Loser............... TKF

What is paramount, and not just his year is his teammates don't like him.

You don't have to like larry, but if the players trust him, they will try.

Now that I think about it, maybe we're being too hard on Marbury. Maybe he shouldn't have to listen to his coach. I've been thinking that basketball is too hierarchical - what's all this business about the "All-Powerful Coach"? Who died and made him God?

I think it should be optional for players to do what the coach says. If they don't like the coach, or agree with his decisions, NBA players shouldn’t have to listen to him, or do what he says. The players union should consider this for the next CBA.

In fact, here's an idea: Why don't the Knicks just keep Marbury and do without a coach altogether?
