Crawford - "rumble young man, rumble"

Nate - more Starbucks anyone?

Qyntel - turning in another solid defensive effort, and turnover free, start

David Lee - offensive boards in bunches

Jackie Butler - .536 from the field ain't no mirage

Channing Frye as sixth man

Eddy Curry

Steve Francis battles to start with Jamal

that's eight

Earl. I like your idea but theres noway that Steve Francis will play with this team if he's not starting, not even Larry Brown can convince him to come off the bench. Francis views himself as a starter(which he is) so if Larry doesnt like his hustle, he has to be gone. Theres no other way.

nyk4ever - Larry can always bring Nate off the bench for a shot of caffeine

A Steve Francis - Jamal Crawford backcourt could work if given the prime directive which states:

Earl... this is why I have been crying about the overpaid (its not your money) DOGS that Isiah has assembled.

Does anyone have ANY doubt we are simply better off without the fat spoiled or malcontent uber rich crybabies like Marbury, Mo Taylor, Jerome James and Jalen Rose? Even Francis... whats his role here? Just let Penny off the books and keep Ariza around.

If we had kept with a sane model we would have a roster full of guys like this along with an ass ton of cap space to make more things happen.

I would say its water under the bridge except with Mo Taylor and Jalen entering walk years ISiah is primed to repeat his past mistakes. Not to mention Marbury and Franic have 3 more years left. That water just keeps on flowing...

Dump these guys for anything and change the culture.

Exactamundo.

There's some sort of shared delusion among Dolan, Isiah and Brown that they have to keep making absolutley stupid deals to keep the money spent totals skyrocketed. Like that's some badge of dedication to the franchise or something.

As long as the fans keep throwing loads of money to buy Marbury (and soon Francis) jerseys and tickets, they're the geniuses and WE are the fools. (BTW, this method long predates Isiah and will continue without him.)

Build up a good team with a core of youth, become a winning franchise, and watch how many Lee, Robinson and Frye jerseys sell.

wasted assets. since uprotected #1's were moved in 3 of the next 5 years, our only assets are the current players with the BEST assets being expiring deals. if we didn't use antonio or penny, those assets would be WASTED in isiahnomics. hence the move for jalen, which gives us an expiring this year and francis, a possible asset to trade from this summer on. money means nothing to them, hence they can keep recycling expiring assets. when the first words that came out of isiah's mouth about the mo taylor trade was "he's another expiring asset in two years", you know what this organization is thinking.

and that was how it was sold to dolan - there will be an "end all be all" to this contract game and the possible raffle winners are kg or jermaine.

fish.mike - you are too much of a basketball scholar to overlook the effect of throwing an all-young dude lineup into the NBA marathon. Think of the potential loss of confidence as their development could have been crushed under the weight of scrutiny WITHOUT the overpaid, lardbutts and crybabies like Marbury, Mo Taylor, Jerome James and Jalen Rose.

The role of the lazy veterans was to absorb the heat from the fans and the media while the kids gained experience during the season with cameo minutes.

We now see them play with confidence and nothjing to lose.

>>Even Francis... whats his role here?

Who cares? Qyntel Woods held Paul Pierce to three points in the second half.

David Lee boards like a demon. Jackie Butler is as steady a frontcourt player we could want in the draft. Did I mention he's only 20 years old?

Fuggedabout Steve francis. He will ear his minutes like everyone else.

That is if there are any minutes left with the next lead guard that Isiah acquires

>>Earl... this is why I have been crying about the overpaid (its not your money) DOGS that Isiah has assembled.

An unauthorized sampling of the fairly-compensated (AKC approved) purebreeds that Isiah has assembled

Frye - Doberman, loyal

Lee - labrador retriever chasing down loose rebounds

Qyntel - german shepard, guarding the opponents small forward

Nate - bulldog, what else?

Jackie Butler - saint bernard, dependable and trustworthy

Jamal Crawford - greyhound

Eddy Curry - Rhodesian ridgeback, don't get him ruffled

that's seven "dogs" who I can live with, regardless of pay stub

Not at all. What you do is get PROFESSIONAL players to ease those burdons. We have Malik Rose and he's done that at times. Guys like Eric Williams. George Lynch if need be. Mutumbo. No, they arent stars, but they are players that play hard, practice hard and does what the coach tells them. They are low cost, wont be malcontents and will have a positive effect on your younger players. Kurt Thomas, Adonal Foyle.. there are plenty out there.

There is a difference between these guys being your team and getting some good veterans to balance a young roster. Thats what I am talking about. Brevin Knight, Tony Battie... Isiah can spend a gazillion on Jalen Rose, Marbury, etc but we have one freakin veteran player in Malik Rose that practices hard, plays hard, listens to the coach and has been in a winning situation.

That's a hypothesis I wouldn't even entertain if I were concerned only about money and my plan were working *perfectly* already.
