nbadraft.net's reporting hes heading to the nba...how would you guys react if we took him (maybe packaging our 2 picks for a mid 1st round pick where hes projected)? im probably biased cuz i went to uconn but i mean the guy is a GREAT point guard...he made all of his teammates better (ie boone and armstrong) and clutch play. obvious downsides about his character but the kid can play and be the type of unselfish point guard lb would want.

Marcus Williams reminds me of Mark Jackson. Question about Willimas is can he guard out on the perimeter?

I would hide my laptop

Seriously, he's a great offensive player, terrible defensively. Awesome passer on a fast break and very good in half-court sets as well. As long as he will listen to Larry, I'm all for it.

Marcus Williams can definitely run an offense. He definitely has the PG IQ.

I agree that his D needs work.

Marcus is a leader. Marcus has a very high basketball IQ--is deceivingly quick-- developing a great stroke--a fantastic pass first team player--big, strong. His lateral quickness is not great, he's not a great leaper, but he uses intelligence size and angles when he plays on both ends. I dont think Steve Nash is a great defender, a great leaper but he also was MVP last year and has a chance to be in the running again. This is a unique player who has the chance to fall into a position we may be sitting at or close enough to move up. From everything I know about MW, this laptop thing was an aberration. He has solid character and he proved it with the way he handled things after the incident. It doesnt excuse the initial mistake, but it might give teams who are a bit lower a chance top get a talent like him a bit lower. There is no doubt about it, he would be very high on my list. He makes everyone around him better, he comes from a tough, winning program with many proven NBA stars and has special skills.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

His presense on the court is great. you know he is out there. He's definately like a Rod Strickland, Mark jackson, Tinsley kind of player.

Knicks got lots of point guards though. Knicks would have to get rid of Marbs and Nate which hopefully is in the plans already.

But don't you think if Marcus comes out he would be the first point guard taked? Knicks would have to be lucky to get him and the Knicks are cursed.

rumor has it that the knicks are looking into trading their 2 1st picks and a player to get a top 10 in the draft.

One guy you might consider instead of williams is Villanova's Randy Foye.

He's a 6'3 200 pounder PG and spent 4 yrs in college but probably reminds us a bit of ben gordon from CHicago Bulls... more of a combo guard..

Randy, a defender is listed as the #1 point guard to be taken out of the draft.. Williams is 2nd..

Foye is combo guard with pg skills, similar to Ben Gordon. I wouldn't take Foye with the objective to turn him into a pg.

Some scouts actually have Rondo and Gibson ranked slightly ahead of Williams. Rondo is a best defender of the three, and Gibson is the most explosive offensively, but I perfer Williams.

gotta go with the belief Larry wants someone at the 1 who'll pressure the ball. Foye and Rondo fit that.

I think Foyes off the board prior to wherever NY eventually picks. Rondo has to be the target.

Whatever happened to the other kid that was involved in the laptop capper, A.J. Price. Did he transfer or is he reinstated?
