Briggs - you couldn't find a single quote where I dissed Wilcox for $1000. Don't hate.

Having said that, here is The New and Improved Revised Keeper List

(from NJ.com) Even without his late-game heroics this season, Crawford has become Brown's favorite player, and after the victory, which broke a nine-game losing streak, he called Crawford the "most-improved player I've ever coached, and as good a kid as I've ever coached." Before the game, Brown vowed to bring in more like him.

That's one.

2. Qyntel who will only get better and deserves major props for playing hustling defense on Lebron

3. Curry because he's Jamal's boy

4. Frye - remember him?

5. Lee - because he's Frye's boy

6. Jackie Butler because he only gets better and is only 20 years old

7. Quentin Richarsdon - because anyone who had the type of year he's had would have quit long ago

8. Nate is on the bubble

That leaves seven open spots

I don't care what LB said about Craw, I have not seen improvement. His d is still terrible and he is still horribly inconsistant. I'm happy he helped us get another win though.

The only change I would make is Nate. I think that Malik will be here next year and that Nate may have sealed his fate by pulling a Marbury.

McK1 - get real

Funky, Fearless Prediction of 2006-07 Knicks Staters

Lead guard - Jamal

Off guard - wide open (see draft)

Skill Forward - wide open (Qyntel gets my vote) Frye could be tested there just for a revolutionary cameo

Big Butt Forward - wide open, Jackie Butler will get a look at forward in Summer League, David Lee in the wings... maybe

Center - Edy Curry / Jackie Butler

get rid of Nate. get rid of Steph.

Francis gets the rest of the season to show he wants to and can run this team

Q can stay if he decides to get off the 3 line and play more like Ruben Patterson.

Crawful will not be starting point. His role off the bench has been defined and set.

point guard. trade up and draft Rondo. Lee and the 30 to NOK for the Bucks pick

take Ager with the Nuggz pick

McK1 - Crawful?

Is that really necessary or appropriate?

What Knicks official are you quoting about Jamal's role being set?

Stop the madness and blind inferences.

This AIN't another wet fantasy, wanna-be, "amateur GM for a minute"thread.

You can select a Knicks core of seven or eight players based on their playing demeanor, perceived growth, personal bias or toughness. Forget the silly imaginary trades for a moment.

jamal's D is terrible? ask Flip murray about that? and while you are at it, I guess Flip and Hughes Defense is just as worse, because Jamal torched them for 37... go figure...

who stays?

Frye or Curry

Francis

Quentin

Jamal - He has been coming off he bench all season. Why is it not safe to assume thats where LB envisions him? 100 to 1 He is not starting over Francis. If Q remains, unlikely he sees the 2 over him either.

Qyntel or Butler

Lee iffy

You need to give up one of the kids in order to move a bad contract.....

Q needs to lose 8 pounds so he is a little quicker and take a little more pressure off his back....

God I hate Isiah he effectively has helped three franchises in the east get better than us..... The Bulls rebuilt their frontcourt by getting rid of Curry go figure.....Was he really worth two top five picks?

definitely gone:

  • steph - self explanatory

  • jalen - expiring

  • mo - expiring

debateable:

  • jerome - they will give him this summer to get in shape otherwise he will be bought out

  • nate - requires patience but has skills...but a very attractive trade chip

  • lee - does lb like him or not? i don't know.

  • curry - he will get this summer to work hard but i don't think lb likes him all that much.

  • francis - it's really up to him whether he buys in or not.

  • qyntel - cheap labor with a good skillset.

definite keepers:

  • jamal - self explanatory. making a strong campaign push to start next year.

  • quentin - awful season but hard worker. good team/glue guy.

  • malik - hard working vet. probably won't get more than 10 mins/night next year.

  • frye - hard working rookie.

  • jackie - cheap blue collar guy that plays bigger than the $80 mil in front of him.

IMO Malik should and will be granted clemency this summer. Proud all heart guy like that should not have to finish his career in this zoo.

And what do you trade them for? Other players who take up roster spots. And in some cases you take back more players than you gave up which takes up even more roster spots.

And when you're looking to trade bad contracts like those players, you're going to be taking back a lot of garbage in return.

What a great vicious cycle Isiah has put us in.

djsunyc - outstanding summary bro. Das why I hang out witchoo.

The David Lee question is one of the most intriguing on the table for Larry to decide. Where LB slots him and where (how) he plays this Summer will be key.

I like the idea of trading nate no so much for his immaturity but if we can move him for a piece we need. Qich is a shooting guard, Jamal, and Francis. WE need a pure point even if just a back up.

I like nates game, and in time he can reduce the clown act. But I'd rather see us use him and a draft pick to move up in the draft and catch a gem in a pickers market. This draft may have some surprises in store for those who can scout.

i wonder if nate + BOTH our draft picks can be sold for seattle's lottery pick?
