No longer can a coach bitch and moan and threaten to bench a player if he doesn't do what he's
ask...Larry style of coaching no longer apply to this league of multi- millionaires...The only way a player of today listens to Larry's rants is only if they are close to being a really good team and can be something special or if the team collectively hasn't signed their big contracts yet...

Otherwise, you have the Knicks, players who are all getting paid, and won't respond to the 65 year old guy berating them in the press everytime he sees fit...There is NO WAY Larry can win in New York given the Knicks payroll...the Knicks will always have to get players who have huge contracts..These players don't have to play in New York to be happy..Why would anyone put up with an old guy like Larry Brown just dragging them through the gutter on day and calling them stupid the next...Am I running through the wall for this guy if I already have 30 mil in the bank...No Way....No one is...Not even many of you posters who love Larry...

Times have changed, no longer can you come on to a female in the office without repercussions..You can't tell the hot secretary you want her anymore....You can't tell her let's go away for the weekend anymore...You can't smoke in restaurants and bars anymore....You can't smoke at your desk anymore...You can't go to work with a hangover from the night before..You can't take clients to Scores(One of NY's finest strip club) anymore....The world has changed, times has changed and these players has changed...

For the Knicks for improve next year, Larry has to change his coaching style of berating players in the press...It's time he treat players with the type of respect he would want others to treat him with...It's the only way these guys will play hard Larry...So you all can applaud Larry Brown's antics, it only hurts what we all love the most, seeing the Knicks play good, inspired and a hard brand of basketball...It's time this guy get with the program the way we have to do in our everyday lives, or be downsized....

greg poppovich is notoriously known as a drill sargeant. absolute hard ass. you don't think phil is a hardass? how about his comments about kwame being a pus y and saying kobe can't be coached? and we all know about lb.

those are the 3 coaches that have won finals over the past 6 years.

it's the players...

I question whether Larry has the patience, at his age, to teach the kind of players that Isiah has acquired.

I think Larry would do fine with a heady group of talented veterans.

that's why this was never a rebuild. we're going to be moving out some of these young guys and acquire some guys in their mid to late 20's. that's not too old but that's definitely not a rebuild in a conventional way.

Which is why I'm very afraid. It's hard to believe that even a smart GM could get equal, let alone fair, value for players with these contracts.

That is not necessarily true..You don't see those coaches totally undress their players in the press the way Larry does...Phil made those comments in a book after he left the team, when he came back and played kiss and make up with Kobe before rejoining the Lakers...Larry does it in a downright derogatory manner..Players love Pop and Phil....They all hate Larry...

Play defense, and you......

Can schtupp the secretary

Smoke at your desk

Go to scores(even if you the Duke Lacrosse team!)

Smoke dope in Portland (nate is a tought coach and also having problems with his soft diva bitches not listeing)

come to work with a hangover

bang Anucha all day if thats your thing,

And be disalusional all day long.

But you gotta play the defense.

No, the better coaches usually don't have the balls, or 10 million dollar contract to take on "team Gazy" like Larry did.

Why not respect him for not pandering to these divas? Cater to these guys ain't going anywhere.

For once someone stood up to Marbury and the rest and is not taking it.

Where to blame, lets start with the players who refuse to step up and get back to the core of what this is all about!

Its Basketball.

Larry is the Juggernaut!

There is a difference between trying to get someone to play defense and questioning their mental ability in the press...One is professional and the other is personal...Juggernaut? really? one champoinship in 20 years of coaching does not describe juggernaut...

2 if you count the college ranks.. look, larry knows what he's doing .. He is a media manipulator... Rather than have the players b*tch about LArry's comments, Why don't they just step it up and play their asses off.. When they do then the comments will stop..

Bill Parcells of the NFL did it all the time with the Jets and he's a proven winner.. SO is LArry!! A legend.. 4th winningest coach in NBA history..

Well his media manipulation didn't work for him this year..it worked against him...Larry may one of the winninest coaches in history with winning 1,000 games but he will lose his 800th game this year as well..Larry teams has won 50 games 8 times in 20 years of coaching and never once won more than 56 games..Proven winner???

This thread is BS because.. not one Knick on the current roster has ever been apart of a winning team and all have been castoffs from their prior teams. People that blame Larry Brown 1. know nothing about basketball and 2. are only interested in And1 mixtape basketball. Sorry neither are accepted on the Knicks. You guys are clueless. Yeah lets back Stephon Marbury who has been exiled from every team he's played on. Seriously, get with it.

AWESOME man! First of all, thanks for respecting everyone's opinion. And secondly, it's nice that when you don't have anything good to say about Larry's job this year (actually there's nothing good to say), the only thing you can do is talk about the past to bash our players and save Larry's ass.
It's undeniable that is everybody's fault, but Larry has done an AWFUL and PATHETIC job this year. No wait,he has done an excellent job: the young guys are not developing very much and the veteran players are all angry and have stop caring thanks to his stupid decisions. Oh, "HE" brought here Francis and Rose, and its clear that both are helping us at winning games... while Q Woods (which has been the best thing that has happened to this team this season) gets 5 mins from the bench thanks to those trades. AWESOME, especially for a HoF coach. The thing he has succeed the most is at fooling everybody. He made it, now everyone here thinks that Eric Snow is better than Marbury because he played a NBA finals.

holfresh your right.. poor players, made to look bad in the media. No reason they should play hard with hurt feelings. They have all had such great and distinguished careers, I mean that should speak for itself.

I guess you liked Layden as a GM... I mean he was great for one thing:

holfresh, you have to be kidding with this post. I mean what the hell is going on here? I see too much of this, so now we are defending primadonna atheltes wit huge egos, just so they can play hard? I thought that is what they get paid to do... And you keep talking about LB berating these players every day, that is BS, when the guys played with effort he complimented them, he did it with steph, he did it with crawford, your post is too one sided, and if you ask me, are barking up the wrong tree...

you know what holfresh, if the players really hated brown, why not play hard, why didn't steph just honestly play hard, and if they still lost, then guess what? it is not on them, it is on brown, but you know what, they are either too stupid to do that, or playing hard is just too damn much to ask these spoiled millionaires, regardless of the agenda...

It is very easy for you guys to be on this side and judge these people playing this game...It's not a one sided issue...Put yourself in their shoes...If at your job, your boss berates you and make you look bad consistantly...You have enough money in the bank to retire and the next few years are guaranteed...You guys are telling me this beratement will make you work harder? Is that right?
Coaching in this league may just have passed Larry bye, bye..
