I see a board polarized between the Larry Brown Lovers on one side, and the Stephon Marbury Lovers on the other. Actually, there's plenty of blame to go around:

  • Jimmy Dolan: For having a huge open wallet and being a king-sized sucker.

  • Isiah Thomas: For not taking balance or chemistry into account when selecting players
    and coaches.

  • Larry Brown: For being stubborn, not making best use of his players, and taking all the fun out of the game.

  • Stephon Marbury: For being passive aggressive.

  • Jamal Crawford: For being maddeningly inconsistent.

  • Eddie Curry: For being an idiot.

That's my list. What's yours?

yep. To blame one person is silly. I'd put Jamal and Stephon ahead of Larry, but that is a good list.

Everyone from GM to coach to players. It's a organizational problem not anyone person. Getting rid of one player and bringing in others will just get us more infected players, just different names(see Jalen Rose as an example of an infected player). We need to change the organizational attitude towards winning before we can win. Lb is the first guy in 7 years that wants to come in and set a standard adn force guys to stick with it or play elsewhere. The difference between 17 wins and 35 wins is negligible. LB did a horrible job coaching this team to wins. But, I don't care about how many wins LB got us because the roster stinks. I want standards set. And finally we hired someone that isn't afraid to set them and stick to them. We fans have just been dealing with losing for so long that we can't seem to recognize it.
I just hope that people will like me

I agree with the the basic point. That when a team is this bad you can't blame just one person. Everyone was horrible collectivley. And did there part to have this terrible season.

I agree with that.....The Knicks are the worst team in the league. Top to bottom.

I also agree with the opening post. You can deepen that list too all the way down to the open roster spot the Knicks have(or do they?).....

Agreed, it starts with Dolan, Mills and Isiah though. They are ownership/management, then head coaches/coaching staff and then players starting with the team leaders, Marbury, Q and the veterans on this team like JJ and Taylor. one question where do you put Francis and Rose in the blame category? Rose has been on the team long enough to get some blame this season.

I have to say that All share blame.

LB - 60% = cuz he never gave this team a chance to succeed. He held back the kids, who clearly showed every single time he put them in that they were more than up to the task. He never won over his team and they will NOT run thru walls for him.
IT - 10% = cuz he made some bad moves and there were better moves to be made. JJ is one big mistake but there are others. Now he has finally put together a proper mix of team players, in order to set things right.
Players - 10% = Steph resisted while he should have been enthusiastically behind the coach. Too many players just not putting in the work to get better on D.

Overall I think this team still has some players that you can keep and just add the right team players around and you'd have something. This team is PLAYING bad, but I believe that this group with a few changes can play better. SO now the ball is back in IT's court. Will he be able to fix his mistakes?

That is the big question.....he should be allowed a chance to fix it. Isiah has been great thus far in noticing the talent and going out there to get it by any means. He seems to over do it though....one trade being the KVH trade....then this year with the Larry Brown signing.....both moves made the Knicks go backwards.

I just want to hold on to Q-Dog. Geez that guy is impressive offensively. He sucks on defense but he is trying.

STarts with Dolan and Mills.. they were the fools that got Assiah, worse president of b-ball operations of all times, in here because of the name..

DOlan didn't even look into Assiah poor track record and of course mills and Assiah are cool friends..

Those 2 buffoons decided to give the dude a chance after he had been fired by larry legend bird in indiana.

Im not gotta blame Larry cause he just doesn't have the type of players that would fit into his system.

Assiah bought in fluke players...

Once Jerk Dolan took over the business from daddy, he fired several meaningful people that worked in the organization, particularly Dave Checketts.. Boy, do i miss Checketts... They couldn't see eye to eye so they let him go..

I don't think no one would be willing to work for an egotistical windbag like Dolan.. The guy is a born loser and knows nothing about sports franchises..

Knicks need a pres/g.m with a plan for the future with a decent payroll amount.. not over 100mm.

When Isiah Thomas took over the Knicks operations it had been over the salary cap for 7 years. Don't let fact get in your way when you are in a middle of a rant though. Also this has to be the dumbest quote "Im not gotta blame Larry cause he just doesn't have the type of players that would fit into his system." Why come Riley nevers complains about that crap. What coach has all the players he want?? The man took the job knowing that, I guess $8 million can make you forget those type of concerns. If you are telling me that Brown can not any player than he ain't Legendary to begin with. Also, keep in mind that Bird and Isiah are rivals and have been for more than 20 years. NOt a friendly rival either. Also btw, Walsh credited Isiah for advising him to trade for O'Neal and to pursue Jackson in 2003.
