Paxson: Tim Thomas Delusional
30th March, 2006 - 2:06 am

Chicago Tribune - The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Tim Thomas has struck a raw nerve with Bulls GM John Paxson.

Paxson took exception to recent comments by Thomas saying he could have helped the Bulls win 20 more games this season and advance to the playoffs.

On a morning radio show, Paxson responded by calling Thomas "delusional" and said the ninth-year forward reported to training camp out of shape in October.

Thomas, waived by the Bulls and now with the Suns, made the remark in a published report, and it wasn't the first time he has criticized the Bulls. He spent less than two months with the Bulls before Paxson asked him to stay home until he could be traded or waived.

Paxson didn't back off his comment when he spoke to reporters at the Berto Center after Bulls practice.

"I am not going to apologize for us having a certain standard," Paxson said. "That's what it comes down to. He didn't fit into that standard. He can say whatever he wants. He's entitled to that. But so can I."

"I'm not going to apologize for asking our players to work hard and be in shape and those types of things. It's really as simple as that. If he thinks we would have won 20 more games with him, then I used the right word this morning on the radio."

not for nothing, but theres's a part of me that wished tim was here for larry brown. it would've been great to see him on inactive all year with jerome, with the "FUGAZY" back page taped to lb's chest.

I thought he could have helped them out too, though. I know he couldn't have did a worst job than Q Bert here. At least Thomas has actually helped the Knicks win games. I would take Fugazy over Q Bert without a second thought.

tim thomas is a bum and would've been riding IR with jerome all year. he is the embodiment of the kind of attitude found in many of our players. felt he's owed something without ever earning it. forget him. he's a bum.

Fugazy over Q Rich? for what? you actually think that lazy, underachieving gutless wonder would help this team? i'd rather have a hard worker who plays some defense once in a while like Q Rich than that loser.

Hey I can only go with what I seen. Thomas was able to produce some and win some games. Q Bert nada. Both had family issues, both were injured, both had problems with Marbury but one guy just did more. Just saying you are tough while wearing just nice suits isn't enough for me. I guess Q Bert gets the ultimate pass on this team. Don't know why, maybe his brother's passing? Or his breakup with Brandy? Don't know but this guy on this forum seems to be golden, oh well I guess everyone has their favorites.

he's nowhere near my favorite, but he's at least got some semblence of heart in my estimation... TT? the guy's as fugazy as they come... i actually felt physically disgusted to watch how talented he was yet put forth that crappy of an effort every night while he was still on this team.

What did Tim help us win exactly? The standards of NY fans are so low that when a player is the third option on a team that wins 32 games we say he helped us win things.

Sad state of affairs in NY.
I just hope that people will like me
