I think we won't have a late 1st rounder..........
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

PURPLE>. love Shannon Brown. he's a real sleeper. Like him better than Ager. Add another to your list.. Louis Amundson. He's David Lee.. but more as a three than a four. He can defend the Three.. but can't jump as well.

Gerry McNamara.....is he really just a second round candidate? I think the guy is good enough to go in the first round. The dude has ice in his veins. He's a great ball handler and passer too. His jumpshot is one of the best.

Not saying the Knicks should get him cuz the Knicks have a crazy point guard glut as it is.....but the dude seems to be forgotten in the mock drafts until the very late second round.

I doubt he will be in the league next year. No big enough....won't be able to create his own shot at the NBA level.

Gerry McNamara can't shoot. He shot .353 last year and his shooting % got worse every year.

The best case scenario is we pair the picks and use a player and cash to move up to 10-13 and hopefully swipe that lottery pick from Minnesota for Marbury.

If that scanerio happens, like walking out with Noah and Roy, that would be just about as good an offseason as we could have pertaining to the draft.

Im also intersted in Marcus Williams Obryant Al Horford S Williams in that 7-13 area

I think the top 5 are set in stone

Thomas
aldridge
Gay
Morrison
and that Italian kid

if we could pair the picks with cash and move up into a 10 spot? and trade Marbruy for pick 7-8 we would have a nice pool to work with.

The pool down at 23-29 is very speculative and impossible to judge until we know who exactly is coming out.

I would probably favor taking Obryant if he is avaialable and IF we can actually get up to 7-8-9 etc..

Briggs...good thoughts & I like a lot of those guys. But you're way too optimistic. Noah & Roy are basically 5 & 15 overall picks...maybe higher for each. I don't think we have near the assets to acquire those picks. Furthermore, I think that if we trade picks, its only as an extra incentive for take Marbury off our hands. Teams know that we're the ultimate seller here. Supply & demand tells us that we'll get the short end of the deal for the priveledge of unloading Marbury. I don't want to be overly harsh on Marbury but teams will realize that:
a) Brown is staying
b) Brown & Marbury cannot co-exist
c) Marbury has a huge contract & carries a lousy reputation re: team chemistry, defense etc.

When you need to deal somebody (see Vince Carter), you generally get screwed in a deal.

Horford's pop said he is staying as well.

With all the underclassmen who have had great individual tournament runs to increase thier stock (O'Bryant, Thomas, Noah, etc)it has pushed a few other talented players down a few pegs. Most notably, Richard Roby.

People had him going as high as 14, but with Roy, Marcus Williams and others moving past Roby, maybe he falls to us at 21. He is a quentisential 2 guard, in the molds of Houston but possibly more athletic.

This is probably our most realistic scenario because its unlikely we have the resources to move up into the lottery.

Believe me when I tell you this, Paul Davis is/was probably the softest player in mens college basketball the 4years he played at Michigan State. The guy has a ton of talent but he is beyond soft. He shys away from contact and never got better from his freshman year. STAY AWAY from Paul Davis.

James White would be a good pick up with San-Ans pick at the end of the first round.

White never lived up to his precieved billing, but has found other ways to be effective. He has all the tools (foot speed, long arms, length,) to be a tremendous wing defender. He also handles the ball very well for his size, understands the game, is a good passer and is still arguably the best athlete in the entire draft.

Before you guys call him overrated, picking him at the end of the first round isn't much of a gamble.

I like White as well. Would love if he could somehow bulk up.

These aren't under the radar... as no one has mentioned someone that hasn't been mentioned... these threads try to generate
discussion about players people have seen that haven't been on reports. Maybe that haven't been mentioned in mocks.. that might fit our team.. instead.. we have people mention ten players, who are all well known... so they can puff up their chest later. Boring.

I was thinking we might get Roby with Denvers Pick. www.nbadraft.net shows the same thing. What do people think of Hassan Adams with San Antone's pick? I'm not a fan of a 6-4 SF.
