"The real good teams make passes to start plays and the teams that struggled, most of their passes are to end plays."

i used 2 defend steph's assist numbers when people calledhim selfish but this year and this quote leaves him pretty much defenseless

He meant teams that teams that struggle turn the ball over alot....how does this translate to Steph and assist?....Also since you have translated Brown's quote to meaning Steph is a selsfish player, how do you say your best offensive player who takes 13 shorts per game is selfish? Do you think that assist have anything to do with players finishing?

Steph makes passes to finish the play... he dominates the ball dribbles 2 the basket and makes a pass at the last minute to try and get an assist, he doesent make te pass that leads to the assist, aka working the ball around... aka BALL MOVEMENT aka the simple effective passes not the difficult force it to someone pass that is just as likely to be a turnover as it is to be an assist.... steph used to be my fav player in the league even before he came to NY... now i want him gone, and i watch everygame so u cant defend him he has been horrible this year in charictor and in play

Funny thing, I watch every game as well, it takes 5 players to execute ball movement.....It just amazes me that posters find 1000 ways to try and bash Steph, but it's ok....yours I think is the most lame thus far...By the way Steph turns the ball over 2.6 times per game...I see what you mean...

apparently you guys haven't been around long enough to know Elite, who is (or used to be) one of the biggest Marb fans out there. Definitely one of the biggest Knicks fans. Says it like he sees it.

Well maybe you can assist him (no pun) with the interpretation of Brown's comment..

i think Elite's dead on about Steph passing the ball to end a play... that's just his MO... he's either driving to the hole to score, or running off a pick & roll... that's what he does best... but i don't think LB was directing this quote solely at Steph... it points to the guys who receive the passes as well at times... i've seen the Knicks work the ball around the perimeter sometimes w/no rhyme or reason unable to work it inside to Curry, who needs to work harder for position & provide his teammates someplace to pass to... then either Steph or Francis is left w/about 6 seconds on the shotclock & they have to drive it to the hole & either try to score, draw contact, or dish to an open man on the perimeter... teams are defending them well, & the guys aren't working hard enough to get open, they aren't cutting to the basket, there's no fluidity, no "continuity" on offense as Clyde would put it... part of that maybe the plays LB calls, but i put the onus more squarely on the players not executing the plays LB draws up for them.

The fact that Steph can drive by people on his way to the basket at the end of plays and get an open shot for another guy or get fouled or make a basket is a good thing...It's by no means a reflection on Steph being selfish...When you have a guard that can penetrate, it's good...I think thats why we may differ so much is that you guys don't see value in this..Attacking the basket and getting the opponent's interior player to committ then dish or foul is a good thing..It leads to free throws or a lay-up...When ball movement don't yield a basket, this is always a better option than a contested outside shot..If anything, those comments and your interpretation is a reflection on the team and not Steph....

i just said that LB's comments were more of a reflection on the whole team & not just on Steph... he's part of the team too.

You are right. It takes 5 players to execute ball movement but my beef with Steph has always been in regard to his failure to get the ball inside and make the best pass not just any pass. At least in the past he used to drive and dish to Nazzr. It's a shamed he's been a prick all year because if he could set up Nazr imagine what he could've done for Curry

What the quote means is that good teams start the play off with a lot of passing and try to find an open man. Bad teams have one player holding the ball the entire time, and then passing when there's 3 seconds left on the shot clock.

Yes, I think this is a shot at Steph.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

that's why acquiring curry and giving up your #1 wasn't so bad. He's a 6'11 center who's only 23 and will continue to grow basketball wise but would need a point guard in order to do that..

With Marbury, Curry will never improve as a dominant big man.. Curry needs a legit pass first knowlegeable PG..

It can't be directed any more toward Steph than it is toward Steve and Jamal as well. They don't do any aspect of passing better than Steph.

Possibly. I'm sure we have more than a few players who may fit the criteria. This is a poor team, and sharing the ball, making sure everyone gets touches, is a huge deficiency of this team.

Still, you have to think, if LB is saying that, we all have to assume who he had in mind.

I just don't get it. I agree that our guards hang on to the ball too long at times. Why does LB keep heaping logs on the fire? What good can come of him saying that to the press? Can he possibly alienate his players any more than he already has? I'll have to agree w/ the Piston's owner: LB just is not a good person.
