dear djsunyc,

we thought it important to communicate with you directly during this difficult time. first of all, thank you again for your continued support during this rebuilding period. we are well aware that this season is not what we had hoped from a win-loss perspective, however, we remain committed to our long-term plan of rebuilding the franchise with the right mix of youth, athleticism, and leadership. most importantly, we are unified in our thinking and in how this team can be built for the long term.

with the trading deadline behind us, we thought it was a good time to update you on where we are and where we expect to be in the future.

all along, we have talked about acquiring players to improve the team for both the short and the long term. a recent example was getting three-time NBA all-star steve francis from the orlando magic. steve is a young veteran with superior skills, who can strengthen the backcourt. we did not have to part with any of our young core assets to get an all-star caliber player.

moving forward, we are still encouraged by the steady growth of our young players. there have been peaks and valleys, to be sure, but every day they are working to improve. there is no question that palyers such as channing frye and eddy curry, both age 23, have their best years ahead of them as big men in this league.

regarding the draft, we will make good use of options we have acquired through recent maneuvers. along with getting a skilled veteran in jalen rose, we also received the denver nuggets' first-round pick from toronto in february. that pick, combined with the pick we have from the san antonio spurs, gives us a pair of first rounders that we can either use or combine to acquire other pieces.

the final stretch of the regular season will be one of development and evaluation, as we keep working hard to grow our young players and maximize the impact of our veterans. we fully understand that this has been difficult for you, our fans, and we have immense gratitude fro your patience and loyalty. it is our commitment that it will be rewarded with a team about which you can be proud.

thank you for your time.

what you can take away from this letter is that they have no intention on using those picks on players for us. they'll probably be packaged and traded.

I didn't even read the letter when I opened the envelope. Not worth my time.

Oh, in that case - thanks for taking the time out to type it up. I thought the Knicks had just stepped up to a new level of half-assedness. Now that I know you typed it, I can understand why you didn't capitalize or spell-check. Did I mention you were great on NYK Way?

The Great Allanfan20 was the one to first bring that to his attention.

Thanks for typing it up, but I have to say, capitalization is our friend. Use it wisely. :P
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

No airline vomit bag to bring to games?

Jaelen and Francis. You know when you take a step back one must realize that we keep doing the same thing. Collecting overpaid players with little incentive to play hard and earn playing time.

We have a real coach, but we have players whom are earning multigenerational wealth and the only thing they crave is "respect" for their past accomplishments and get offended way too easy.

Why do we construct our team with this type of player? I understand the "we did not give up much" but its like the dude that keeps trading in cars and justifying its not costing that much more. But the point is we keep extending the payments. Penny for Jalen, is that really worth a really low pick when we don't have much roster space?

What really pisses me off today is Jerome James might just cost us Butler. We likley trade him cuz there is no room.

Isiah has a plan for this summer and I for one am really looking forward to seeing what happens.

I say give Isiah until January 1st to remake this team and see some glimmer of hope. Thats fair.

at a recent season subscriber forum, when asked about jerome james, isiah admitted that there was no excuse for him not being in shape and blames himself for not making sure he was in shape. he then went on to say that if jerome is not in shape next summer, they will look to cut ties (aka buyout).

another $30 mil, just thrown away...literally thrown away, while right around the corner from the garden, there are two homeless people sleeping under a shopping cart.

Isiah should not be responsable for him being out of shape. He should be responsable for not having such a clause in his contract that can suspend him. The other thing is why does Nalod know this guy was playing for contract and is full of crap and Isiah can't do a proper background check? And I don't know crap! Why does Isiah think that just because these guys come to NY they going to change? I like the way they do it in the NFL. Give them a big signing bonus and after a year or two they fall off, they can be cut.

But how smart is it to keep a guy who needs to be concerned with building for the future but whose poor job performance thus far forces him to seek immediate results?

Isiah needs to go now. If Brown doesn't want to help rebuild this franchise then he needs to go too. Then they need to clean house.

apparently, after the playoff series with the kings, isiah had jerome all but locked up. this was a guy he was targetting and they made it legal as soon as the free agent signing period started.

nalod - why could you see it and isiah can't? it's b/c you were blessed by dido. just by conversing with greatness, you will get some of his glory.

You can't undo the past. The smartest move Isiah can make now is to buyout JJ to free up a roster spot.
