We have enough chips, IMO to make a play for a player of Artests caliber in this offseason. I'd love Artest but he is too big a gamble to give up Frye. I mean Indy got a declining jumpshooter for Artest, and IMO, Artest is BY FAR the best player.

ROn is doing exactly what most expected him to do. Be a hell of a player and a good team mate.

Its 18mos down the road.

If we were a top 4 team making a run I would say do it.

I don't know Ron enough to know if he can handle Larry.

I say no. I still think ron is too big a gamble, and that frye has alot of potential. but more time has to pass to decide whether or not I am right about that.

no way do i give up Frye to get Artest... he's a ticking time bomb... i'd give up any of the veterans on this team including Marbury or Francis for Artest, but no way do i give up our best young player... it's just too much of a risk.

Artest would wreck LB if LB tried to mess with him. No way...

I voted yes..

If the Knicks would have brought Artest in, the Rose and Francis trade wouldn't have happen. plus, Artest is a no sh1t top tier player in the league, who is still young with a short contract (I think only 2 years left after this season).

Once his contract expires, The Knicks still have a chance to sign Frye or Villanueva.

Frye, no doubt

Artest in New York would be like a crack addict in ... oh never mind.

I think Frye will be a very good big man in this league and I look very forward to seeing his progress over the years, whereas I have no idea what to expect from Ron. I'm happy with Frye and I answered no. Even if we are going to trade Frye, I'd rather it not be for a walking time bomb.

I am changing my opinion.

Ron is the kind of competitive player who wouldn't take no crap from a guy like Marbury- He'd probably go and tell Marbury he is soft and unless he wants his head cracked open, he better play defense.

Now, I didn't think getting Artest would put us over the top then, and I still don't. But Artest would help get the most out of other team mates.

Frye is going to be an excellent player, I just don't see him ever having that kind of impact on team mates and as long as Marbury and Francis are on this team, we could benefit from someone like that.

I'm still voting Frye. Right now we're seeing wheat an in-control RonRon looks like. I wouldn't bet on him staying this way after a certain point.

Yea, that's all we need...Artest to kill our PG.........wait...on second thought....we get some type of exemption for that?

Artest in NY would be great for the basketball team but I seen this guy up close. Spent time around him while he was in college. Nice guy but he shouldn't play close to home. I said the same about Marbury and still believe part of his failure is that he is too close to home. Channing Frye and David Lee are perfect for a place like NY.

Maybe in two years he is just crazy enough to sign for the mid-level, he brings way more to the table than Frye this team is in need of some serious toughness and rebounding...we don't need a power foward to shoot jumpers, but again you can't aid Indy in the rebuilding process.....

Guarentee we make the deal they turn around trade Jermaine O'neal and get some nice talent to go with Jones, Granger, and Frye and rebuild just like that, and get some cap relief in time to be major players in market
