LIVE from section 404...abridged

i called tonight the battle for dj b/c the raptors, for some odd reason, have been my 2nd favorite team all year long. i've been watching their games on league pass all year and have become fond of them, even tho they blow.

so i sat back and watched to see who wanted dj the most. looks like toronto did. should i have expected anything different? damn you knicks, damn you straight to hell...

- crowd went SILENT when frye was on the floor. after frye was escorted to the back, malik and quentin both got up and went back (i'm assuming to check on frye).

- hey look - mr. popcorn is here. btw, i've been to every home game except one this season (yes, i'm a loser). and isiah has not appeared at ANY nationally televised game (nbatv, tnt, wabc, or espn).

- 3rd game in a row where francis AND marbury are both boooed during intros. lb has been getting booed the past few games as well.

- jalen was pulled when he just let the ball roll right to the raptor player off the rebound. qyntel was subbed in immediately after that play and that was the last you heard from him all night.

- all night long, lb was screamin at eddy on the help defense. "move over eddy" "or come over eddy". and then when eddy picked up the offensive foul, lb just put his hands in his laps with his hands over his head (as did the assistant coaches). he was subbed out soon after and not to be heard from again.

- jamal is taking control of the team in the 4th quarters now. good for him. looks like he's starting to grow a pair. is he going to play his way into consideration for the starting pg spot next year? whatever the case, he needs to gain some weight this offseason and he has another 15 games or so to stake a legitimate claim to the position. well i guess we know morris peterson can't stop jamal crawford...but he did draw two important charges on him. as the word spreads around the league. people will start guarding jamal to the left (as he always dribbles left for that jumper) and they will start playing up to the push off. he got away with it vs. detroit but not tonight.

- btw, toronto is just as young as we are. it's a glimpse at a team in our conference that is at ground zero and will start making some steps forward over the next few seasons. bosh is younger than frye and curry. charlie v is just as young as frye. and calderon didn't even play. frye and curry were able to compete with this frontcourt b/c it was just as young as us. so that's a good thing.

- i hope francis yields something good this summer.

Crawford and Q is a BIG back court and a nightmare to match up with.

Q is a naturally good rebounder for someone his size. That certainly has been impressive. I'm just not sure what to think of him in most other aspects. He goes to the rim well too though.

I would love to see Jamal become the PG. I think he is one of the few embracing LB's system and becoming a better player for it. We need to move Marbury and Francis. I don't know if it's possible, but I would love it. If we could only move one, I'd move Marbury and start Francis and Craw with Nate and Qrich off the bench.

DJ, I'm out of town and missed the game, how did Frye look against CV and CB? It looks like he held his own and then some. I heard Bosh didn't do his damage until the fourth after Frye went down.

first half of the game was all mike james. charlie v started off hot but then didn't really get the ball the 2nd half. bosh was matched up with curry in the first half but then just took over in the 2nd half. james stopped chucking and they gave it to bosh and cleared out. he had his way with curry and frye.

frye looked good. missed some jumpers early but then found the stroke. he played a good game and worked for his points, inside and out.

frye is bigger than bosh in stature. but i think bosh is also two years younger.

bosh has a better all arund offensive game than kg right now. he's crazy weak but he's just a kid.

but frye couldn't guard charlie v or bosh and they really couldn't guard him either.
