i say it opens up the possibility that they'll trade KMart to open up cap space to resign Evans... an offer of Jalen for KMart straight up could interest them... but i'd demand more if i were the Knicks cuz that's helping them out way too much & we'd be taking on a huge risk & contract... if the Nuggets would give up their pick in 2008, i'd make the trade (they can't trade their picks in consecutive seasons)

or try & work a deal of Mo T for KMart straight up... u'd have to throw in some other players to fit it in the cap tho

I'd do the Mo T type of trade so we can trim some fat personally. Mo and JJ for KMart and Buckner would work and then we just turn around and cut Buckner.

i think at this point unless we get another sf like harrington id hold on to jalen to play for us next yr then let his contract expire...although with our management i think the chances of letting an expiring contract actually expire is slim to none.

under their philosphy of not getting near/under the cap, this team CAN NOT let expiring deals expire. it's the only real way of aquiring nba talent. we gave up a lotto pick this year and a chance at a lotto pick in 2007. we owe another pick between 08/10. our assets to acquire nba talent is the MLE or trading expiring deals.

i'm not sure why everyone is so high on harrington, i just don't see it. i don't think he's what we need. i think we need more defensive minded guys at the 3 and 4 and not a tweener like harrington who's good on the offense. i'd rather have dmiles and reggie instead of the price of harrington alone. i think he's gonna stay in atl but you never know.

if u can get Evans for the MLE i'd be fine w/that too... the reason i'm so high on Harrington is because we can kill 2 birds w/1 stone w/a potential trade w/ATL... get rid of Marbury, & give us a consistent scoring threat at the 3 spot who rebounds well & is young... pair him up w/Q Rich at the 2, w/Evans at the 4, & that would be a nice lineup w/a ton of athleticism & rebounding:

C - Curry / Butler
PF - Evans / Frye / Lee
SF - Harrington / Rose / Woods
SG - Q Rich / Craw
PG - Francis / Nate
IR - Mo T / Malik / Big Turd

this is going to sound nuts...absolutely nuts...but i would rather hang on to steph than trade him for harrington.

making that trade creates better team balance & solves the big impasse between our "star player" & our head coach... i don't see why you wouldn't make that trade... Marbury's production has drastically fallen off this year, & Harrington is a player on the rise... it's a winning trade off for the Knicks imho.

b/c i think if lb and marbury can make nice-nice, that would be better than having harrington. and i'm willing to let harrington go someplace else and take a risk on steph/lb relationship. but if we move steph and it's for someone like boozer or odom in return, then i'd make the deal b/c i like odom and boozer more than i like harrington.

yeah, it'd be nice if Steph had a sudden change of personality & made nice nice w/LB & transformed himself into the leader we expect him to be, but i think it's fair to say that's not very likely to happen.

i happen to disagree w/u on Odom being a better fit for us, but that's fine... we just have different views on Harrington as a player... & we can get a better rebounder by signing Evans to the MLE than to trade for Carlos Boozer who has a huge contract of his own.

MoT & JJ for Kmart and Buckner I'd do. But would they?

If we could get that, then even if Kmart stays injured it's a decent risk to take. Would free up a roster spot after the cut also.

Could then turn around and do whatever other trades are being discussed.
