VDesai mentioned Eddie Jones in another post... i've always liked his game ever since he was a Laker... shoots the 3 & can still play solid defense & run the floor... i think he'd be a good fit here.

anyone think Jerry West would be interested in Jalen Rose & the SA pick in exchange for Eddie Jones

I like him because he's an expiring contract next year and can play defense on the perimeter. I think Brown would love him.

I'd prefer to get him by moving Marbury. I think Jalen and the SA first rounder is too much to give up for Eddie at this point in his career. Jalen/Eddie should be of equal value.

Here was my Steph/Eddie proposal...

Okay, I'll take this as an opportunity to throw out my first ever Steph trade proposal.
Memphis gets:
Steph
QRich

NY Gets:
Eddie Jones
Brian Cardinal

Memphis does it to get a star player to put next to Gasol, Battier, Miller etc. They have an abundance of wings and Marbury gives them a big upgrade at PG. They are a team at the crossroads...they have to make a move to take them to the next level. Is Marbury the way to do it? Who knows, but it didn't cost them a lot of talent.

Why NY Does it:
Eddie Jones is a max expiring contract and Brown would love his D. Brian Cardinal has a bad deal, but he's a hustle player defender that Brown would like. The Knicks shed Marbs and QRich's collassal deals and on net get more flexibility.

i think Eddie would be more valuable to us than Jalen, so i don't mind losing that late 1st round pick... we will be strapped for roster spots next year as it is... & you'd still have Eddie Jones' contract to use in a trade if you have to at the trade deadline, so we don't lose anything there.

I think I'd just hold on the pick and see what we could get for Jalen rather than give it up for Eddie, even though I like his D. I don't think this is a tremendously great draft, but I think we've seen there's a lot more talent in the 25-40 portion of the draft the last few years than in years past. I also like having the option of having 2 first rounders to move up to the mid-teens late lottery if there is a player we are targeting.

How about trading Steph to Portland for his cousin, Sebastian Telfair.
Soemthing like this:

Steph, Q and David Lee for Telfair, Darius Miles and Theo Ratliff. LB would do it I bet. And he could play a big head game with Steph on his way out the door.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

he's only just over a year older than Jalen... is there really a difference?

Well no if you consider we will be trying to get rid of Jalen next year and we are also trying to get young .....

i'm fine w/that too... if we could parlay the 2 picks to move up, i'd be more in favor of going that route for sure.

Gotta try to keep it fair, right! Q's trade value is at an alltime low. Who knows if they would want him. Lee brings some value.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

i like Telfair, i really do... i think he's got a different mindset than Marbury does at the same point in his career... he didn't come into the league starting right away & being hailed as the superstar rookie... he was highly touted as a HS prospect, but i think POR brought him along perfectly... i think LB could definitely work w/him... i'd much rather give them both 1st round picks than to give up David Lee though... he's a guy i'd love to see flourish in a Knicks' uniform, & having a guy like him to play w/Telfair, Nate, Channing, Butler & Q Woods would give me alot of optimism going into the future w/this team.
