do you guys think steph will get traded no matter what? or is this a growing process for him also and at some point, steph humbles himself and said "coach. i will do it your way. whatever you want from me, i will do it" - would he still get traded?
he's gone
still undecided
he's staying

I would say he's definitely gone but I just dont see anyone taking him. All of this BS going on now just makes it that much harder to get rid him, and add on to that his contract...I still want Marbury to succeed here in NY but it looks like that wont happen, I was a huge supporter of Marbury the past 2 1/2 seasons but he just makes it so hard to root for him

Actually, who knows really.

The spin is untrustworthy as is the extent of the rift between them.

It may just as it is reported or far worse.

the last few games of the season are important for marbury at this point.

The key is going to be if he can play well enough to improve his value- at this time, I don't see how any team would take him unless we include Frye or Lee and take back garbage.

he was traded before, so i guess there will be some sucker out there willing to take a chance on him again... but as long as Isiah's our GM, there's more of a chance that Steph will be here next year (unless they can get someone good for him, which i don't see happening as long as he keeps up his act of not getting along w/the coach & some of his teammates)

Okay, I'll take this as an opportunity to throw out my first ever Steph trade proposal.

Memphis gets:
Steph
QRich

NY Gets:
Eddie Jones
Brian Cardinal

Memphis does it to get a star player to put next to Gasol, Battier, Miller etc. They have an abundance of wings and Marbury gives them a big upgrade at PG. They are a team at the crossroads...they have to make a move to take them to the next level. Is Marbury the way to do it? Who knows, but it didn't cost them a lot of talent.

Why NY Does it:
Eddie Jones is a max expiring contract and Brown would love his D. Brian Cardinal has a bad deal, but he's a hustle player defender that Brown would like. The Knicks shed Marbs and QRich's collassal deals and on net get more flexibility.

there's no way i see MEM making that deal... if you were Jerry West, wouldn't u rather let Eddie Jones' salary come off the books & then sign a guy like Mike James for about a third of what Marbury's slated to make over the next 3 years & have a guy who actually plays D consistently & can play in a team oriented style offense? & why do they take on Q Rich if they have an abundance of wings already? my best hope is that ATL or MIN will take Marbury off our hands... i don't see any other team wanting to bother... but who knows what'll happen i guess.

proposed over at nytimes - if utah is willing to take back steph, then trade steph for boozer + filler. i would like the filler to be harpring in a s&t. he played for brown and he brings a toughness factor. (that would mean moving qyntel or david tho)

Yeah he is gone....this should be interesting now tho...I doubt Brown wants to finish is career in this town without an allstart caliber player..With such a huge press and following, this will be his legacy...
Isiah as well, This will determine whether people consider him a great coach going forward...And you know that mantle is important to him....All three has alot riding on this and will determine their future..

Eddie's contract expires next year. They can't use his money to sign Mike James. And say what you want, but Steph is still a better player than Mike James. Also they'd shed 2 wings for 1 here. If QRich got healthy, I could see him fitting their style.

I don't know that they are going to be able to attract talent in FA better than Marbs/Qrich either. This also gives them a boost 1 year earlier.

Who knows....I dunno that anyone is interested in Marbury, but this is the first proposal that I've thrown out there.

no doubt Steph's a much better player than Mike James... that's not what i'm saying... i don't see Steph being a fit on that MEM team... they're about team style ball built around Pau Gasol... bringing Steph into that team would ruin everything Jerry West is trying to build there imho.

i stand corrected on the Eddie Jones contract though... maybe a deal of Jalen & the SA pick for Eddie might work if you like Eddie Jones... i wouldn't mind that at all to tell u the truth... i've always liked Eddie Jones even from his days as a Laker.

If you mean Eddy Curry, his contract doesn not expire next season...he has a series of 1 yr contracts that continues as long as he stays healthy...People will be interestrd in Marbs..
Dallas just signed T.O...

I see what your saying. I think they might view this as a "free talent upgrade." Memphis is a good team, but they've stagnated. At some point they need to move out from being a 2nd 4 western conference team and a first round playoff loser. I don't know that Marbury does it, but I also don't know that they have better options. They could use another big, but I could also see them wanting an upgrade at PG. Damon has been hurt, and Bobby Jackson will likely walk this year.

actually memphis would be a great location for steph. they play 1/2 court, with a big man and jumpshooters on the wings. steph would be an ideal fit. but i don't know if jerry west would trade for steph. maybe he'll make a move for francis or bdiddy but probably not steph.

I think no matter what, Steph is on his way out the door and I think that could be a good thing for team chemistry and respect for the coach - 2 things Marbury has hurt this year.

Steph for Boozer and filler would be awful. We need tough, shot-blocking, interior defenders. We can't afford to give significant PT to another frontcourt player who has none of those qualities.

i'm sure Joe Dumars would love to bring Stephon Marbury in when he already has 1 of the best backcourt tandems in the NBA.

since when did Boozer become "SOFT"

guy is a legit paint presence. he doesn't block shots so what. he still goes chest up with his man and holds positon underneath.

you trade Steph and get back Booze, thank the man walk out the store and count your change whistling...
