What's your move? What single move gives us the best shot at returning to the finals this season?

What's your move? What single move gives us the best shot at returning to the finals this season?

Trade: Thomas, Ward, and Lottery protected first round and second round denver pick to seattle for Payton. This gets the Knicks to the finals definitely. If that doesn't work.

Trade: Thomas, Ward and denver second rounder for Sam Cassell. If that deoesn't work.

Trade: Thomas Ward and nyk second round pick for NVE.

Big man don't need them, no one in the east has one. Just sign another 7' stiff with some ability.

Ther are no 7 footers available. There are no 7footer left that can play over 10min a game. Knicks dont have the goods to get a decent center.

Actually there are 7' stiffs that are available.
Wang ZhiZhi, Boumteje, Woods, Nesterovic there are a few more out there.

One move to save my career ??? I would get in a 3 way, deal that is !!! HORNETS trade ELDEN CAMPBELL & 2nd rd pick to the CLIPPERS / CLIPPERS trade OLAWAKANDI to NEW YORK / NEW YORK trades SPREWELL & FRANK WILLIAMS to the HORNETS & a 2nd rd pick to the CLIPPERS. The CLIPPERS still have a center ( cheaper than $80mil ) plus to 2 draft picks. The HORNETS still have a center in MAGLORE plus the addition of SPREWELL at the SG with MASHBURN (SF), BARON(PG) & PJ BROWN(PF). NEW YORK LINEUP: C=KANDI PF=MCDYESS SF=ANDERSON SG=HOUSTON PG=WARD

You know what, even considering the Lower-to-Upper case ratio the above is somewhat reasonable. The Knicks do loose a heart and soul type player, but I would do the above because of the big man in the middle. The Hornets loose size but add fire. The Clips do loose a big center, but they do add another big who is not constantly demanding the ball down low - that's Brand's job - and they also already have enough cheap big men off the bench.

Very reasonable.

Trade Thomas and Ward for NVE.Sign Ewing and Kemp for cheap.Then hire Layden as waterboy.If he's not good as that i'll hang him.

So K9 vs. Mason is an issue of KANDI vs. VAN EXEL - Who takes the Knicks farther by his presence on the court?

One is the guy you want to battle the Shaqs and Vlades, the other is the one you hope will break down the Bibbys and Iversons...Bothe have west coast experience which could prove valuable in the finals...

I don't know if I came up with my career-saver yet - Still pondering...

Kandi in the NY minute. It's not even a close call.

I still can't understand all of the Van Exel callings. Bad knee, bad attitude, bad defense, bad contract, old age, shoot-first pg. What gives?

Yeah, I'd take Kandi over pretty much anyone right now. He could develop into a franchise center.

So if Kandi deal is impossible, then that's not gonna save your career, and Dolan fires you. Game over.

Just out of curiosity, How far over the cap would we be signing someone like Kandi to his asking price? (with Luxury tax, I'm assuming an extra 20 mil per year? or more?)

Spree and Othella Harrington and Denver 2nd rounder

Oops - Let me clarify...That ONE move can be a sequence with a particular end result...but the sequence must end in a Knicks squad that is finals-bound...

With Odom and Maggette at 3 and Richardson and Piatkowski at 2, I can't understand why the Clips would want Spree.
