I think NO will take it. He's kind of ben put on the backburner, but he's a full-sized 2G[only 19] with Vince Carter like athletiscm, a sweet jumper and he blends in with the athletic players we are accumulating.

Also, let's remember who was going out of their way to try and acquire him----the SPURS.

I'd do but I'm not so sure NO would. And why would they let him go so soon - is there a more major problem than we're aware of?

yes marv....jr smith called byron scott a liar and byron scott was like i'll never talk with him again

Than....reight before the trade deadline....the spurs and the hornets were going to trade brent barry for jr smith with a 3rd team involved...however the 3rd team was atlanta and they backed out right as soon as the deadline approached

I would love to get JR here, but then clearing out the backcourt becomes even more of a priority than it already is.

I don't think the Spurs have a decent pick like that to offer. IF the Spurs were in on JR Smith, WE should be on JR Smith. Ive thought about this for awhile after it came out that he was nearly moved. He's been in the nBA 2 years and would be a nice LONG TERM compliment to the young core we have. Sometimes situations do not work for some players. Anyone really think we can get a better talent than JR Smith at 23? When we talk about Curry being a top pick in this draft---IF JR Smith was at Carolina as a junior--is there ANY doubt hed be pick 1 in this draft? NOPE. Thats why the Spurs were on his jock

Draft Brandon Roy. Trade MoT and Q in the off season for a long, strong defensive PF. Man up. Wash, rinse, repeat.

Is he going to be one of those uber talanted mental midget type player who won't mature until a contract year, then regress into contentment and divahood?

Would love to see it but I don't see Brown bringing in more kids.

with our logistical roster problem, should we trade a pick this year for a future pick? or how about trading BOTH picks this year for a future pick to a team that will pick lotto to 17 in a deeper draft in 2007?

JR can score. I'd love to take a look at him as a future 2G and i think he's certainly worth trading either of our first rounders for.

BTW, speaking of young J. Smiths, Josh Smith has been tearing it up in the 2nd half of this year and is now adding a 3 pt shot to his repetoire. He's getting like 14 pts, 8 reb, 4 asts, 3.5 blks, 1 stl and shooting 42% from downtown in the 2nd half.

yeah, that was totally uncalled for - calling him out on a night he's supposed to be happy, right in front of him and a national audience. bad job by bilas.

Jay bilas was correct, Josh is a good off the ball defender, not so good man to man, I was at the hawks game Friday night, kirlenko is on another planet compared to josh smith, Josh was shooting bricks, he had a little streak where he hit some jumpers the past few games, but believe me, his jumper stinks, he is a great athlete, marginal ball player, no handle, no moves, can't shoot. Should of went to college to maximize his skills. He is not even on the same page with JR smith skill wise.....

You went to the Hawks game on Friday, saw him shoot 4/6 from downtown and are telling me he was shooting bricks? Not to mention he dished out 6 asts in the game and has averaged more than 4 asts per game since the all star break. The kid has clearly improved his game and is only 20.
