Marbury + Butler + Denver Pick

FOR

Hudson, Hassell, Griffin, Lotto Pick

If we know anything about Larry, it's this --

He WILL trade you, if he doesnt like you. AI was without a doubt Philly's best player, but they were hours away from trading him. It would've happened had Matt Geiger rescinded the trade kicker in his contract.

Pat Croce DID what LB told him to.

Just like Isiah will now.

Mchale will do this just b/c they get Marbury for $.40 on the dollar, and to keep Garnett happy.

We do this b/c it'll keep LB happy, and b/c we get some defense in Hassell, plus the lotto pick...

DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

are you nuts? you don't give up all that just to get that collection of garbage & a late lottery pick... Marbury by himself for that package, fine... but to include Butler & both draft picks is insanity.

actually it's shaping up to be a mid-lottery -- around 9-10.

and believe it or not......marburys value is at an all time LOW. i can see us taking out 1 of the picks. but everything else is pretty necessary for minnesota to even consider taking a chance on him....

I agree with TMS here. TWolves are in an awkward situation where Marbury is actually desired. You can probably squeeze the lotto pick from them for Marbs and Crawford.

i tell u what... we send them Marbury & Mo T's expiring contract, & they can clean house by sending us every horrible contract they have on their books along w/Ricky Davis & their pick protected to top 7, & i'll jump on that one in a heartbeat... Ricky's not exactly your most cerebral player in the world, but he plays D & LB can work with him.

^ If we're getting Davis, there's NO way they'd be willing to swap picks.

Also, I don't even think they'd wanna give up Davis for Marbury. Davis is putting up 20 5 and 5. Plus he's cheap. Only way they take back Steph is if its for a discount.

So like I said before, maybe you take out 1 of our picks, but that's still the basis for the deal. Getting the lotto pick is nothing to snuff at.

Plus we save 10 mill longterm. Not much, but still something. Plus Hassell is 1 of the better wing defenders in the league and a Brown favorite.

i AGREE WITH BIGBEAST. ADD MCCANTS ALONG WITH THE PICK AND MAYBE IT'S A DONE DEAL..

THOSE 2 GUYS IN HASSELL AND HUDSON GOT LONG TERM DEALS TILL 2009/2010.. DAMN, THATS A LONG TIME..

Ya but we save 10 million longterm anyway.

Plus Hudson usually comes up big in the playoffs. Hassell is the perimeter defender we need.

I don't give a **** about McCants. If they wnna throw him in, by all means, go ahead.

But its the lotto I care about. And yes -- Shelden Williams is def. your target...

honestly, larry had mentioned how they have too many young kids on this team..

what they 're looking to do this off season is trade one or both picks with a player, possibly marbury and get an elite player in return..

larry wants veterans in this stage of his life.. he got 3 nice young rookies along with Curry, Woods who are under 25yrs of age..

hate to tell ya but sheldon w. won't be playing for the knicks..

^ well we'll have to see, now wont we........

i disagree though. i think larry would gladly take a 4 year duke graduate and 2 time DPOY.

3 things bobs3304

with Curry in the middle, it's best they pick up a savvy rebounding veteran PF to compliment him..

also, why would you take sheldon who is listed as the fourth best PF in the up coming draft??

lastly, once again, hate to tell ya but he's not coming here.. we already have Frye and Lee who plays like a 4...

one other thing from the 3 PF who is considered better than sheldon, one of them is his teammate, josh mcroberts who's a 6' 10 freshman..

No to trading 20 year old Jackie Butler

If he was in the draft teams would be fighting to line up for him

^ Woodman, point made.

A guy I'd like is Reggie Evans. (as far as savvy rebounding PF's).

As far as McRoberts ---- he's not gonna be in the draft. But he is a special special player.

Yess!!! REGGIE EVANS.. that would be a great pickup for the knicks.. not great offensively but thats not what we need hinm for.. hey he got 20 rebounds with denver earlier this week. My god!!

as for McRoberts, i agree.. he 's not ready..

^ Having Evans and Lee alongside Curry would be like having a poor man's version of Mason and Oak........

Hudson and Hassel have awful deals. And I'm not tradin Butler.

If we are gonna dump Marbury it better be for normal contracts and something of value, not just a swap of picks. Even if its pick int he 20's fo ra pick as high as 9-10. With the way the draft is, from 9 to 29 its same quility players.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

^ I disagree.

Lottery talent will ALWAYS be better than everything following it.

Now, as far as the deal goes, well......it really is addition by subtraction.

I tell ya, I'm not as quick to get rid of Marbury as some around here (nor am I the guy's #1 fan btw by any means) but I really think you might be on to something Bobs. Nice trade idea. Def. something Zeke should explore that would be beneficial for both clubs.
