Its been said a thousand times on this board, but I need to vent -- Marbury is a selfish, self-absorbed, one-dimensional playground player who doesn't deserve to wear a Knicks jersey. What a disgrace. His most recent comments from the Newark Star Ledger today:

On 'Starbury':
"I went into this year trying to do something, to put myself in a situation where we can win, Okay?" he said, "to help the team win games. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. So, what do I do now, as far as the way I play? I go back to playing like Stephon Marbury, aka Starbury. I haven't been Starbury this year. I've been some other dude this year."

On how to play in your contract year (selfishly):
"I'm going with the spirit of what they've asked me to do," Marbury said. "That's all I can do. I'm not the coach. I'm the player. But I know that if this was my contract year, and I went to any organization, based on how I played this year, and asked for the max, tell me what they would tell me. They'd say, 'That ain't happening.'"

The rest of the article goes on about how Me-bury plans on going back to the shoot-first defend never guard of years past. Saw last nights game, and it would appear he's already there -- drive first, and don't dish; don't even attempt to guard the perimeter; help defense? what, me help? etc.

Can't wait until we trade this loser for a bag of balls and a luke-warm body or two.

You guys read way too much into things. We aren't trading him. He's part of our future, whether you like it or not.

Starbury makes me proud to be a Knick fan.

He's not terribly bright.

I know its easy to pick on marbury but what has LB done since hes got here. steph passes to these player that can't finish, turn the ball over, when i watch the games steph passes the ball and within 2 play after later the ball is stolen and going the other way. about 85% of the knick forget how to play ball when it comes to them. and that no defense thing he might as well save his energy on d considering hes the only one playing offense. on occasion another player might have a good game and then this board lights up with the " i told you _____ was a good player." yeah right someone should tell LB if the player can't play or is screwing up bench their butt. I would rather play with teammates who want to be on the court than those who think it is actually work and play like they are being forced to play. Heres a great idea for LB " let those who want to be great play and those who are content with just having potential sit." Shoot i'm so pissed that its almost 3/4 of the season and these players still can't pass the ball out of a double or get the ball upcourt with out me worrying its going to get stolen by the other teams back up PG. we got 2-3 solid nba palyer with 13 sunday park players. I know where you were going with the steph being selfish arguemnet but having steph play down his strengths isn't working. so let steph be steph and maybe chicago won't get the 1st pick in the draft. the point of the aruguement is that there is plenty of blame to go around. IT,LB,JD, and ALL the player. we are now considered the clippers of the east (with a giant payrole) --- Just venting

It's just amazing what you guys get worked up about...Step away from the ledge....You want these guys to lose games and cry to the reporter to make you happy...Get over it...In all players you are looking for the Derek Jeter and ARod answers...Which is always the same after every loss..."We didnt execute and were outplayed..We didn't get the job done..We will work harder next time"...If you guys don't see those statements after a loss then there is a major problem with player..You guys need to get over it...Clearly Marbury is still the best player on this roster....

Yeah I forgot...It's all his fault....

Marbury is who he is. I'm done getting exasperated with him. Maybe this is the year I finally learn to be more detached about players. I would prefer different type of point guard, but he's who we have. On the upside, "Linus" is good for some comic relief at times.

So let me get this straigh...You are not pissed at the way he plays but what he says in the press afterwards....Also, when he passes the ball and the players are not ready for it...It's ultimately his fault...How many times did Marbs dish it to a wide open Q1 to have him miss the shot..Those plays alone was at least 5 assist...But no wait, Marbs was selfish, that's why we lost.....U guys need to smell the coffee...
