Both have injury issues, so I'd want to just give up Taylor's contract. K-Mart is tougher and a better shot blocker, plus he's been to the Finals twice, so I'd rather have him.

If the team is not trying to get under the cap, then as might as well get something for the expiring contracts. A trade for K-Mart might be good because he gives us the toughness and some of the shot-blocking we need up front. I'd want to see what other options were available too, though. Boozer is definitely not what we need since we already have enough scoring from Frye and Curry.

Booze can guard the 5.

if Frye isn't traded, when we go 3 guards LB can put Frye and Boozer up front with those guys and still have a guy who can control the paint defensively out there.

If I had to pick...Boozer.

Boozer is a much better offensive player and better rebounder.

Martin is a better defensive player, but I don't think it makes up for his poor offensive game.

Injuries? Boozer has had a bad stretch of injuries, but as far as I recall, he had a relatively injury-free career before that.

Martin has broken his leg twice and has a degenerative knee condition.

Good luck Mike D'Antoni, 'cause you ain't never seen nothing like this before!

We already have a good rebounding team and we have plenty of scorers. Boozer's skills are ones we don't need. We desperately need the toughness and defensive abilities K-Mart has. I also think you drastically underrating K-Mart's offense. He's no superstar on offense but it's definitely strange to call a 15 PPG scorer a "poor offensive player"

Stay away from both of those guys. Stick with Frye.

No one wants to go away from Frye regardless of how they voted in this poll. You need at least three preferably four good PF/Cs

I don't see KM as the difference maker to the Knicks that you do. I don't see Boozer as a soft player.

I do see KM as a bigger risk than Boozer, because of his extensive history of injury going back to his college career as well as a documented degenerative knee condition. In other words, the traits that define KM's game, his defensive ability and athleticism can easily be compromised by broken legs and cartilage loss.
I also think you drastically underrating K-Mart's offense. He's no superstar on offense but it's definitely strange to call a 15 PPG scorer a "poor offensive player"

I've watched Martin quite a bit in his career. If you give KM the ball and ask him to score his best option is to miss and get his own rebound for a putback. He does not have much of an offensive game. He is an okay shooter.

As a professional, KM has benefited greatly from playing styles and point guards that take advantage of his finishing ability and his playing over the rim. He also gets a lot of put backs. Aigain all of these abilities are greatly compromised by his knee condition, which will likely get worse.

The injuries would make me shy away from both. But if K-mart was healthy it would be nice to have his defense.
