Great, I can't wait to listen to Barry play the victim again.

I kinda figured he tried to clean up last year and only played 14 games while collecting the big money.

I hope he blows his knee again and lets Hank Aarons record stand tall and proud.

Hank went thru hell to break that record, Bonds does it for the glory and the money. He can just duck out under the shroud of injury and fade away. He was hall of fame material anyway, so let it just stand as it is.

He won't live 20 years as his body will fall apart in a few years. These Roid idiots just don't get it.

Mcgwire at least ducked out and walked away from it all leaving a ton of money on the table.

Sammy was likely clean last year and look how he fell apart.

Im rooting for Giambi to return to health. At least he was the only one who stood up and (sort of) admitted it!

Shameful!

Nalod, good post, I find it odd how seemingly healthy people, elite athletes, with bodies in tip top shape can't live past 50, I look at the runner flo-jo, lyle alzado, and countless others who have fallen apart or mysteriously died very young. Bonds is destroying his body, 10 years from now we will look at him and marvel at what he used to be physically, and then realize that it wasn't real in the first place...

sad...

I think the average football lineman with 10 years in the NFL lives on average to 57 years old.

I think the roid boys won't age very well. Alzado was a bizzare phenom. That dude just blew up in no time!

I really feel strongly about Hank Aarons record!

Hank's AND the Babe. The Babe was the greatest homerun hitter of all time, but what Hank did, the way he did it and the BS he had to put up with along the way to me is one of sports truly great achievements. Neither should be passed. Babe hit more homeruns in a season that half the TEAMS in baseball. Hank was under the heaviest scrutiny, the weight of the death threats, the racial bigotry and hatred and he deservedly broke the Babe's record with class, grace and the same perseverance and toughness that characterized his career. Truly the anti-barry.

Thanks fish, I appreciate your expanding on this.

Barry is a lying cheat compared to what Hank had to do. This exposure is just gonna be a big negative for baseball and Bonds backlash might be quite high. Barry should quit while he is ahead.

He need only face HOF scrutiny but 5 years is a lot to decifer his career which I think was HOF material before he juiced up.

Imagine, all those home runs and no body even naming a candy bar after him! Reggie, Babe, Oh Henry!, but not Barry. Barry so loved he don't even got a good nickname.

Reminds me of Marbury. He ain't even got a nickname. Nobody love Stephon to even give him a nickname.

Maybe be a good topic starter.

Heck, he might not even live in 10 years. How many times, for the past 3 years, have we heard about these juiced up wrestlers dying of heart complications, due to the roids. And not only the wrestlers. Look at what's his name from the Padres in the '98 World Series. He played third base. He admitted to doing the 'roids, and he died just a year or 2 ago. And now Barry is taking 20 pills at a time? The guy is breaking down and his bones are probably getting more and more brittle by the second. If he keeps it up, he's gonna die younger than Kirby Puckett.

Hey man, I can't stand ANY of the players who are clearly juiced up, and that goes for Sheffield and Giambi, but if Giambi proves this season, that he can play w/o it, then I'll start rooting for him, even though I still was never a great fan of game.

I havent read the book or the SI article but from what I have heard on the radio: Bonds was jealous that Big Mac and Sosa were getting all this attention. I think his decision to use performance enhancing drugs had nothing to do with money. He had and still will have plenty of that!
