Now this is for some of the more hardcore roster guys....build your own Knicks team You have a salary cap of 49.25 million. Use real gm and Hoopshype Salaries pages to add 'em up....I would love to see what types of rosters I'll see from you guys.

WEll if we're talking pure fantasy, you go with guys still in their rookie contracts, right? Like Paul at PG, Wade at the 2, Howard at C, Lebron at 3 and Amare at the 4.

Pretty soon you'll be WAY over the salary cap but have some fun in the meantime.

This team is not over the cap and I would be very happy with it.

2006 NY Knicks

C - Dwight Howard / Jackie Butler / Dale Davis
PF - David West / Robert Horry / David Lee
SF - Danny Granger / Matt Harpring (MLE) / Qyntel Woods (LLE)
SG - Rip Hamilton / Raja Bell / Bobby Sura
PG - Chris Paul / Brevin Knight
(1 open roster spot)

- i build the team around Howard, Paul & Granger... goal was to keep cap flexibility going into '08 & '09 seasons when they become restricted FA's, so i can resign both of them to longterm deals

- the veterans either have reasonable contracts, or expiring ones, & ALL are hardworkers who play a solid fundamental style game

- a couple big shot clutch players to go to in crunchtime (Rip & Horry)

- a few fill in players who are low cost, low risk, & potential high upside to round out the roster

TOTAL SALARY for 2006 = $47.78 million (still under the cap & enough cap space to resign my core guys when their rookie contracts expire)

SF = AK47
SG = ARTEST
PG = KIDD

My squad can play in the post, high low with Duncan & Frye.
Defense from the paint out to the 3pt arc.
Fast break with the best of them.
Isiah Thomas will lead us back to the playoffs in 2006 !!!
