Top 6 clubs are the ONLY clubs that have a larger positive differential. Its such a compelling stat its impossible to ignore.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/stats/byteam?cat1=Total&cat2=diff&conference=NBA&year=season_2005

by the way the number 1 team in the NCAAs leads the country in shot-clocking Duke which was number 1 most of the year has one of the best shot blockers and while Villanova doesnt have SB they DO have 3 speed guards who pressure the ball up and down the court.

Make no mistake defense wins. If we DO not address our porous defense, I dont care what name we bring in, we could falter again.

thye need two shot blockers and a speed guard who can play up on the ball fullcourt.

my hope is they have the brains to understand what is wrong--we need complete team play we are missing vital components to make that happen.

dont go backwards

We desperately need shot-blockers and outside shooters. That's why I mentioned some shot-blockers in the other thread who would come pretty cheaply in trades. I don't think Frye will become a great shot-blocker but I do think he'll improve as he gains more experience.

i think we have ingredients here for the outside shooting and I think it should show itself with francis--in fact it already has

let me add to that to, i think with franchise and rose the ball movement will be much better the assists should go up and our shooters will have better looks

I didn't see the last game but I don't know how impressed I am with our outside shooting. Frye can certainly spread the floor, which is great when you have two of the best penetrators in the league. Do you think Q Rich can be counted on for consistent outside shooting? He hasn't been consistent this year. Marbury's a mediocre shooter and Francis is a bad shooter and Jamal is garbage.

Wow great find Briggs. It's sad really, shotblocking is mostly an effort stat, the guys that want to play help defense will get the blocks and the teams without that effort are not going to win many games. Plain and simple.

I think Rose is going to lose PT to Q as he moves over to SF.

That said, I think Eddy will become more of a defensive presence if the Knicks can acquire a PF who excels in that area.

"Shot blocking is over-rated."

BRIGGS you should put this on your list of favorite Isiah quotes to go along with "Eddy Curry is a once in a lifetime talent..." and "You need players like Jamal Crawford to win championships..."

HAHAHA!!!

When Isiah was quoted as saying that, we knew we were in trouble.
