with the addition of steve francis, i think this team is way better.

now if we can stay away from any deals that include players like kenyon martin lamar odom and concentrate on grabbing two athletic frontcourt players and one speed guard who all have defensive skills

briggs, learn from past mistakes.

first it was we could contend for 50 wins and possibly top eastern team.
then it's houston will win it all.

now it's optimistic about next year.

we all want to be optimistic but how can you be? action speak louder than words. we have to see what happens this summer b/c ANYTHING can happen, including things for the worse.

grabbing two athletic frontcourt players and a guard that have defensive skills are ALOT easier said than done.

I have zero optimism. Until we get some role players willing to play D, own the glass and play tough hard nosed BB we arent winning crap.

I've seen far more non change than change. If we go out and get some guys that play tough like Banks, Thomas, Evans, Battie... not a team full, just 3-4 and get rid of some of this fodder like Jalen Rose, Mo T and JJ I will sing your tune. Until then seeing is believing

I was optimistic that in adding Larry Brown, three great rookies (Frye, Lee & Nate) & Curry and whatever else we did over the summer that we would at least be able to match the win total of last season.

I would hope we will be better next year- but we should be better this year and we're not

we need a shotblocker in the worst way.

how about we offer Mo T, Nate Robinson & Jackie Butler for Theo Ratliff & a Jarret Jack?

that gets POR out of the last year of Ratliff's contract & also gives them 2 young players w/upside & good character to help their rebuilding... it gives us the shotblocker we need along w/the young backup PG that LB has been asking for.

Getting Stevie Francis KILLED any last bit of optimism I may have had left after the Jalen trade.

Why did getting Francis for Penny and Ariza kill you optimism?

signing Jerome James killed my optimism for this year... but the Francis trade gives me optimism for next year, because i can finally envision Marbury being traded.

I'm very optimstic that we'll win between 15 and 25 games next year.

Just wait until we trade Frye, Lee, Nate and Mo T for Chris Webber.

Soft personality. He'd be a nice piece, but we need a leader. This team is lacking leadership. We need to get some character guys in here.

Why did getting Francis for Penny and Ariza kill you optimism?

Because to me it was a pure starphuck move.

Extend our spending into the next galaxy.

Respond to every failed "plan" by jumping willy-nilly into the "next."

Create a perpetual smokescreen around you that we'll keep adding "talent" and somewhere somehow it will all come together and gel.

Bring in yet another GROSSLY overpaid player whose game doesn't translate to wins.

This pattern doesn't strike anyone else? Buy one unwanted overrated "star" after another and keep selling it as a "plan" that's evetnually going to work?

I have zero - absolutely zero - faith in the current administration of the NY Knicks. I don't even care whether the responsibility for the current state gets ascribed to Dolan, Isiah, Larry, the players, or various combinations. But I'll tell you that the Stevie pickup tells me they have nothing to offer us to give us any hope that they're dealing with the structure of building up a legitimate winning team.

I don't know why you wouldn't want Lamar Odom. They just added him to the Olympic roster because he was so popular with his teammates on our last dysfunctional Olympic team (also coached by Larry Brown; a coincidence?). Lamar was one of the few bright spots on that team. He also gets props for deferring to Kobe, not the easiest guy to play with.

What the Knicks really should have done is do what Jerry West did when he ran the Lakers. Get under the salary cap and sign a stud who can change a team's fortunes like Shaq.

I dont believe so. Im fine with Jalen Q woods Lee+ we can move Q over to three. We have plenty of 3.

My first option is move both picks and Nate up high enough to get a pick to select Sheldan Williams. If I have to offer Lee and both picks I will do it. If Im able to do this, I will followup by offering an ending contract to Milwaukee for Dan gadzuric, a player that havent been using.

Second option is to move up high enough to get either Josh Boone or Hilton Armstrong, but I will NOT give up Lee is this case. If I do this I will offer the full MLE to Chris Wilcox.

If I cant get Wilcox I would offer 5 years 22.5mm$ to Marcus Banks

IF I endup with only 1 big--for example I only get Sheldan Williams and I cant get another big via trade or MLE, I will buy a high second round pick and select 6-10 Solomon Jones from South Florida
