This, from the Insider aritcle NBA Trading Block Western Conference. Of course this is not to suggest that a deal is even remotely in the works or even being talked about, but, well, at least one other non-Knicks person thinks the Warriors and the Knicks will do a deal.

Erick Dampier
Contract: 5 years, $37.3 million left
Issues: Oops, I did it again. It's hard to tell Dampier and Adonal Foyle apart except for the fact that Foyle blocks twice as many shots. And that's a lot when you're 7-foot and not putting up double-digits in points or boards. The Warriors would part with either one if they could but since Foyle costs them about $2 million less a year, well, you do the math.
Suitors: OK . . . who needs a seven-footer who doesn't necessarily score, rebound or defend well but can always anchor a team picture from the middle of the second row? We know. New York.

I am hoping Layden is working on a 7 footer for this team. Only reason I am concerned re: Golden State is cause they do not seem to need a PG. I would love either Dampier or Foyle on the Knicks.
That acquisition makes us YOUNGER again. Also, makes us shed a PG
and puts us back in contention for the Eastern Conference title.
A few little adjustments like this are all we need. The nucleus on the team is quite good. Spree and Houston can work together quite nicely we have seen that work when the played to the Finals and beat the dickens out of Alonzo/Tim Heaters.
Lets send tons of mail to Layden to do this trade NOW before it is too late and Golden State sends one of these wonders somewhere else.

Foyle would be a better backup in NY. Plus, Dampier has been severely injured the past two seasons, we wouldn't want him or his long contract.

One thing that wouldn't surprise me is if Golden State stuck with their idea of having Hughes at the point. Mid season rolls around, and Hughes is either doing bad, unhappy, or injured. GS need a PG in a reall bad way. More bargaining power for the Knicks. Maybe it wouldn't be bad if we started the season with 3 and see how it all plays out.

I'm not sure if i can really see us having three point guards. I think ward should just go for whoever we can get. If we want to trade Jax, make sure it's for a real good center who can come off the bench and maybe even start. One problem with dealing ward for dampier is it wouldn't work under the cap straight up. Ward has a kicker and dampier has BYC status which makes them hard to trade for each other. I would consider dealing Jax and maybe Knight to get Dampier and something extra, but i'm not sure. Either way i do kinda like the idea.
