Ppl are too worried about getting "fair compensation" for Steph.

I think getting his ass out of town is "fair compensation".

If thats the case, why not just buy him out!?

it's not a bad idea. look at all the players and ex-coaches still on the payroll and at millions and millions of dollars. hey, trading him means taking back similar deals so $$$ wise, they could buy him out and they wouldn't even flinch. but that's not gonna happen as long as mr. popcorn is in town.

^ You dont buy him out b/c you could always find a trade that slashes SOME money.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

I'd take any trade that included a #1 and player(s) whose contracts don't run longer than his.

It might slash some money but because his contract is so big, it might require taking back 3 or 4 players just for Marbury and leaving no room for and 1st rd picks this year. It has to be a 3 team deal where one of the team's has a large expiring contract or a large contract with only 2 years left. But even then that team has to take back a lot of players.

This ain't the Orlando situation because Francis was clearly a salary dump. Knicks have made it clear they ain't trying to get under the cap anytime soon, so if you trade him, the best case scenario would be to take back a few bad contracts, as long as they expire before Marbury's, get a young prospect (maybe MCcant's) and a draft pick.

^ Exactly...

As long as youre slashing SOME salary, getting SOME talent back, and getting a good draft pick, thats fair and equal compensation in the world of REALITY.

In abstract terms, that sounds fine. What are some examples that would fit that description? I think it would be a lot harder than you do to come up with some that would work.

This lost has stuck with me a little longer because of the way we lost it. What has me scratching my head is why didn't Q2 play? He had a solid performance against Memphis and now not a single moment on the court. Also, why so much time for Jerome James. An arguement can be made that we lost the game cause we got into the penalty so early from all his fouls. I could see if Chicago had a dominant big man then playing James would have made sense. Q1 was on a roll when he got benched, that just didn't make sense.
The players bumbled the game down the stretch but Brown deserves blame from his decisions.

I think the #'s work, Skinner's up in a year, Theo's up the same time as Marbs.

I don't want Randolph because his contract's too long (2 years longer than Marbs'). Miles' is a year longer - I'd like to avoid that too.

This works too

Add a couple picks from Minny to us (this year #1 top 3 protected and next year #1 top 5 protected) and add the SA pick this year for them

POR has made it a point to rebuild with "character guys"... why would they want Stephon Marbury? also, they have his little cousin Telfair over there already... can u picture adding Stephon Marbury to Zach Randolph & Darius Miles? oh brother.

the only viable candidate i can even begin to imagine is with MIN, since they'll do what it takes to keep KG happy if they can... the problem is we'll have to take back some more horrible contracts of mediocre talent... but if we could get Ricky Davis in the package with maybe Mark Blount & Marko Jaric, i'd jump on it... at least those guys can play defense & fit into a team oriented style of play... Ricky's really matured since his days in CLE imho... i think he'd do well playing under LB.

Moving marbs is only going to be a salary dump for us recieving nothing in return. Maybe a sign and trade PACKAGE with Atlanta to get harrington and we give up Nate also and get Harrington and another contract in return.

But he gets dumped IF anyone will take him.

Isiah was a fool thinking he could turn him around.

2 or 3 good games out of 60 is a good ratio. This guy sucks, he shoots 38% from the field for his career. I love it when he pounds his head after a made shot, maybe he should hit dumb curry a few times as well.
I want to leave something that's going to stand for a long timeI want to leave a legacy,I want to leave tradition.I want to leave an imprint,a blueprint in terms of how people play, and how they coach and how they respond when they put on the Knick uni.
