>>As of today, MSG has aired 55 Knicks games. The season-to-date ratings average is a 1.31, up 7% from the 1.22 average rating the Knicks recorded at the same point last season.

- NYDaily News

If pro sports are a bottom-line oriented business then Dolan is smiling frommear to ear because his Knicks are, without question, the most talked about franchise in professional sports.

Isiah only promised he would lie if he needed, in order to make the team better. "This ain't charity". Brown KNEW it was a season for auditions and has the pedigree to take any route he sees fit, even his Wheel of Fortune, revolving door lineups. Cool.

The Knicks have the longest streak of consecutive menu bars on PTI in the history of the program

Better to have bad press than no press

The Knicks will be a great comeback story in 07

That was the plan all along

It's all good

The eventual winning will be the easy part.

Ayny comeback story will always contain the cap figures.

Even a championship will be considered "bought".

But we have proven that you can be the worst and still have the highest payroll.

The New York Knicks have no plan.

You're a caricature already. Give it up.

Well the test results are in - it's conclusive - we are all clinically insane for continuing to pour our hearts and souls into this franchise.

Oh well, misery does love company. If we're all choosing to march into hell, we can at least give each other a few laughs along the way.

Islesfan - so I can agree with your patently pessimistic view of the Knicks universe?

Nevah!

And everyone thought I was insane when I said Dolan doesn't care what the record of this team is as long as there are players like Stephon Marbury are on this team to sell to the average fan. People pay for tickets to see these guys and Dolan is a good businessman, he knows this. He's making money on the worst team in the NBA and he couldn't be happier, he doesn't care what the hardcore fans think becuase he's always going to have the average-joe fan and their money in his bank account. It's a sad state of affairs for us die-hards.

I would love the knicks to get josh. The knicks would would sell a lot of Boone jerseys and see a big increase in viewership on MSG from CT. Uconn has 3 of the 4 highest rated games on National TV this year. But thats not why I would want Josh, Josh is going to be a darn good player. I cant think of one Knick fan who wouldnt like this guy.

Briggs - you are indeed Jedi

Curry needs an enforcer type for the dirty work just as Wilt had Lucious Jackson in his best (winning) years.

Parish had McHale

Salt had Pepa

Patrick had Oakley

oh, quit teasing! The '67 world-champ Philadephia 76'ers were the GREATEST team I ever freakin' saw! Luke Jackson was the prototype POWER forward!!!!

Okay Marv, you done got me started. The '67 Seventy Sixers not only were damn near perfect, they had the bset public address man iin the business (next to our dearly beloved John Condon) the unforgettable, original and never boring Dave Zinkoff.

Choose One

Lucious Jackson or Gus Johnson?

(Of course, neither is Dave DeBusschere but I'm jus axin)

Zinc!!!!!

All right, you bring up an all-time question. I have to give a qualified answer. If I need offfensive dominance out of my PF because I got him next to a C like Wes, then Gus is my man. If I need pure banging and defensive terror cause my center's doing the scoring , I want Luke. Both were giants on earth.

What's your pick?

Marv - you KNOW half the dudes are scratching their heads wondering who the hell we're talking about. (notice the stall tactics in play)

Pure banging and defensive terror is best description of Luke Jackson I've EVER read. Not to be confused with the pure banging, defensive terror and occassional offense of Maurice Lucas...

Now we're headed into advanced hoops Kung-Fu...

The REAL question is which type of power forward is best suited to compliment Eddy Curry.

the caricature is the embittered fan who racks up post after post about how unhappy they are (and takes pot shots from the gallery at those with a different POV) are you kidding? I could draw a cartoon guy struggling to take a massive dump and that wouldn't even come close to what it's like trying to read the posts of your ilk. It takes talent to draw within the lines. May I see your coloring book?
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

the next original, or positive, thought from Islesfn will be his first

... hold up, I'm trying to visualize Eddy Curry playing alongside Lonnie Shelton
