if it was mainly for the pick, look at the pheonix suns--they are in a conudrum with that Kurt Thomas contract because they have to sign Diaw and Barbosa next year. My bet is they would take an ending contract for their picks this year to dump KT. Unless they get some kind of superstar contract for jalen, there were much better ways to get draft picks. Looking at how many teams have 2, w couldve simply bought 1 for 3mm$

That makes a lot of sense, bring KT back right after trading him. If you believe it's that easy to buy picks then why don't the Knicks just buy ever pick in the draft? The trade relieved a big man glut, added a SF and a pick, and moved an expiring contract this year for one next year. NYK might have gotten a better deal, but this was a good one and definitely not a panic.

the trade took on 34mm $ in payroll for a guy we already have on the DNPs and likely the 23 rd pick in the draft. moved an expiring pick? what is mo taylor? why do we need 30mm in expiring picks? how come we are the only team in the league that does business this way--do you think our last place record may have some correlation with the idiotic business plan?

knicks got VERY lucky with steve francis, hes going to help save a lot of face.

but the biggest difference is that with someone like KT we would have had to take back a LONG contract of an old guy. And that's something we all don't want.

You know what? When has a team EVER bought a first rounder for $3M? I think that's a falacy.

nuggets pick will probably be around 18 or 19 at seasons end, I would take that along with the spurs pick and try and nab Hilton armstrong...

it doesn't happen a lot, but it does happen. I don't buy the argument that teams are clamoring to sell their picks for $3 million though. The Bulls bought the Suns pick and drafted Deng, but I believe they also sent them their pick the next year.

its not our money. Rose is a player that moves the ball... if we trade Francis or marbury.. he's a nice contingency plan for one more year. He and Q2 at the three are Ok in the present construct.

The "it's not our money" argument is tired and dry. Unless you don't go to games, don't have NBA league pass, don't have MSG, never buy any NBA merchandise, etc... it is our money at some level. It's being spent poorly.

We should have not taken Rose and I would have not done the Francis trade.

Can someone please tell Larry when some of us sugested Rose on the bench we had actually hoped he would get off it for a second or two....preferably so Craw only has to shoot and nothing else(which he does anyway)....

what the **** was KT going to do for this team? every single guard would keep torching marbury and francis. Q wouldn't be there to miss every single ****in shot but honetly how much better would we be? marbury, francis, crawford, curry ughhhhhhhhh

I would've waited a little longer to see if we could get more. Pulling the trigger on Jalen earlier on wasn't gonna be enough to help us this year.

i didn't think the Rose trade made sense either.

He doesn't appear to be a Larry Brown - type of player, but then again -- no player does

I'm trying to figure out what happened to this guy. The first few games with us, especially the first game, he looked great. With no Marbury, he was the de facto point guard.

I know he causes problems for us on the defensive end, but he played so well to start it's hard to believe he got a DNP in the Grizzlies game.

jalen rose is effective pretty much only when he has the ball in his hands. he likes to shoot alot also. with steph + francis + trying to go inside to curry, there really is no role for jalen on the team anymore.
