Tim Thomas To The Suns?
1st March, 2006 - 5:27 am
Newark Star-Ledger - According to the Newark Star-Ledger, Arn Tellem, agent for disgruntled Bull Tim Thomas, has agreed to the terms outlined by Bulls GM John Paxson and should soon become a semi-free agent. Semi, being that his buyout comes with the provision he does not sign with an Eastern Conference team.

The Ledger reports that while the Nets were Thomas’ first choice, he now appears to be headed to the Phoenix Suns where he will step in for the injured Kurt Thomas. [READ]

man, life is not fair. pretty funny that our starting front court from last year will be split between the Suns and the Spurs. I never thought I would think of those guys, collectively, as tough. but, man, they seem like tough SOBs now...

If Nash can work magic on the gazy man he confirms another MVP!

Marbs will look even sillier!

I am still a Marbury fan but if Nash turns Fugazy into a baller, I will have to change my opinion about Steph.

This could confirm an ongoing argument.

You know, we all want Steph to succeed in NY. I don't love him, but I am a fan and really want him to do well.

Same for Isiah, and the same was said about Layden, Eisley, and Chaney!

Seriously, if Nash turns Gazy into anything, ANYTHING, NASH is MVP of the decade. Cassell, GP, numerous coaches could get NOTHING from Gazy.

I think Tim will have a similar role to what he did for Milwaukee - come off the bench, score 10-12 easy points, grab 3 to 4 easy rebounds. His best role is instant offense off the bench. sometimes he can exploit a matchup. he's a great three point shooter though, he'll get lots of open looks in Phoenix.

Please, this has nothing to do with Marbury. Go to another sport if you want to blame the fugaziness of Tim on Marbury. Tim may get some 3 pointers, but that's juuuuuuuust about it. Nash wont help him rebound, get back on D and actually play D, and he certainly wont make Tim run the floor and drive to the basket and post up. If Tim gets 5 3 pointers a game, yay for the Suns, b/c I'm sure they are aware that that's his only use at this point.

Phoenix is a great fit for TT. He would've never gotten off the bench on the Spurs

TT absolutely sucked last season. He relentlessly bricked that mid-range turnaround the entire year. If Steve Nash makes TT a player, then I bet he can walk on water and turn water to wine.

no, tt will be great wherever he goes. he's a free agent at the end of the year so papa needs a new pair of shoes.

D'Antoni is a great coach. Great System but Nash is a great PG. He wasn't as good in Dallas as he is in this system but he was still very good.

Yeah, it's funny. Paxson and Skiles don't think he is good enough to play for their crappy team, but Phoenix thinks he is good enough for them. Also, Paxson and Skiles don't want him to be in the Eastern conference for fear he could help someone (Philly or the Nets in this case) beat them out for a playoff spot or worse, do well in the playoffs. Which leaves me believing what I believed all along was the case with Skiles. He just couldn't stand TT and never gave him a chance there, or resented the big money he was making and attempted to sabotage his career in a contract year. There is no other explanation.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.
