It baffles me that the San Antonio Spurs LOVED this guy so much... i mean he's more popular than sprewell was here!!!! I don't get it... how can i guy be so loved in one city and so hated in another and don't tell me just cuz they were winning.. if we were winning i'd still say sit this guy he can't play plain and simple... maybe hes a nice guy but hes horrilbe... Jerome Williams was a better player than Malik and hes a great guy/energizer.. get him back on the team for gods sakes!

But the real point: How was he such a fan fav in SA?!?!?!?!?

Underdog syndrome. Rose is a second Round pick who made it to the starting lineup against the odds.

He could not get off the bench for about two years until LB figured out that he is better than Frye and Lee.

I'll give Rose one thing, that dunk he had on Mutombo was pretty nice.

Rose started for SA quite a bit a while back. Then he could not get off the bench the last 2 years.

HIm and pop lost the love as he lost his starting job.

In a team with chemistry and progress, a good player becomes excellent.

He got some rings, and in respect to him to get his minutes and remove his salary, they traded him.

And Nazr stepped in to the starting job and was a world champ.

Did Nazr get better? Or the team make him a better player?

This is what lacks here. Our talent when combined gets lessoned, not heightend.

Chemistry. Gotta have it. Leadership, gotta have it.

the simple fact is if Curry played with Malik's heart and desire he WOULD be Shaq. If Crawford did he would be Gary Payton. If Mo Taylor did he would be Zach Randolph. Malik has a drive to desire to win. He's 6'5 at best. You will notice he's not taller than QRich and considerably shorter than QWoods. Yet he fights and plays his tail off every minute he's on the floor. He got under Shaq's skin because up 20 he wouldnt lay down. He keeps playing hard. And the other guy? QRich. Too bad he hasnt scored since Brandy, because he plays his ass off also. They are the only two guys with an ounce of pride and proffesionalism on this team right now. Them and maybe the rooks who are too green to open their mouths.

say what you like about M.Rose...I like the dude and LOVED how he stepped to Vince Carter the other night at the Knicks/Nets game.

if you're gonna keep two vets on this team, who would they be?

my picks: quentin and malik

the only two dudes that give a f ck what's going on here. they are playing HARD and throwing their bodies around. they are complaining about ref calls and getting in opposing players faces. forget the skill level, these are good glue guys and good influences on our young kids.

marv is right, AD did alot more for curry and frye than people are giving him credit for.

good call, Fish and DJ. Malik and Q seem like the only guys who care lately. You'll notice the Spurs game turned from respectable 9pt margin to 30pt game within about 3 minutes of QRich picking up 4 fouls and a technical and sitting for the night.

Exactly right...of the vets I see Rose and Q as the two that would have fit in on the Harper Ewing Starks Oakley Knicks.

Q sucks because he can't hit an F'n shot and Malik sucks because he can't ball. I can see Malik on the spurs playing 10mins and being a good role player but on this team he is a waste. In the end it is all about talent- not potential but actually doing it on the court-getting results.

^^ speaking of which, why not try to sign Jimmy Jackson? he would be a good vet, can show leadership, good rebounder, can defend(probably would be our best defender) and score.
