The Knicks have tons of talent....I dunno how you can make this team better. The team has been poorly coached since training camp. There is proof that alot of fans won't except because Larry Brown is the king of coaching.

Even with the new players its the same results. There is no good reason why these guys can't win. The talent level is there.

I'm a diehard fan but this season has brought new meaning to the word. You can't continue trade players left and right. There needs to be a new voice in that locker room......The players have all given up on the coach. If it was anyone else but Larry Brown the coach would have been shot in the back of the head by one of the ball boys by now.

Larry has to go before Isiah. Any other GM would still have Brown to deal with as a coach. What mix of player will best suit Brown? What players can he coach? If a coach can only do his job if he has a certain type of player they would and should be fired.

This is Bull****.....

pj carlisemo, a guy isiah interviewed for this exact job, said the following:

- this team has talent but they just don't fit right. in this league, it's not just about talent, it's how it fits together. and this team just doesn't fit together. isiah knows it. lb knows it. and they're trying to fix it but it will not happen overnight. lb and pop are the best coaches in the nba.

at the end of the day, isiah assembled this roster (mainly of players that never really won anywhere nor play ANY defense) and put them with a coach who's whole philosphy is predicated on defense and smart bball play. TOTAL MISMATCH.

so we can fire lb and hire someone that will let this team run. just don't be mad when we're like the golden state warriors next year and not building towards any type of championship team.

I bet Herb could get 45 wins out of this team as currently constructed. Maybe he can get 50 wins...

...BUT...

...That's all he would get. I am a firm believer that LB knows what he is doing. If he lets the players do things their way, we'd probably win more right now. However, we'd be ill prepared to withstand the true rigors that face a real contender.

That's what I'm saying right now. Check with me in a year if the team is still terrible.

I will conceded this, it seemed like last year we lost a ton of close games. Conventional wisdom says LB could help this team win those close games and generate a huge turnaround. Well, I don't know what to say. We went from losing a bunch of close games last year to being a team that starts the game immediately in garbage time. Something has to change, but if it were up to me, it'd be the players before the coach. LB gets the benefit of the doubt for now.

herb would be lucky to get 30wins with this team. I rather larry tear it down and build it back up with better players, even if it means losing 60games this year. than winning 30games year in and year out with this team and herb.

Guns, the point I was trying to make about Herb is that he would probably let the guys play looser than Larry does. That would translate into more wins now, but it would be fools good. In all seriousness, I can't think of a coach out there who could turn this team into a winner.

I don't know about Herb, but I bet Lenny Wilkens could.

Lenny Wilkens has suffered some poor seasons, but the LW I remember with Cleveland and Atlanta, was an ingenious player's coach.

I wish he was patroling the sidelines now.

How about 1 player that plays defense. Isiah has put togehter 15 players and not 1 plays any defense.

Maybe we should get them all a room at the Holiday Inn.

exactly...fire I.Thomas...and the Knicks will still be trading players every 4 months to get the "right type of players" in here.

thats Larry Brown master plan.

-Sign 5 year contract
-years 1-3 get players that play the "right way"
-years 4-5 are solid seasons that compete and make playoffs.
-leave NY to retire or whatever
-New coach comes in with new scheme
-New York is back in last place
-Larry Brown is considered brilliant

I still can't understand the Anti-Larry sentiment. I agree that he hasn't done the best job, but this team is so poorly constructed!

Brown needs to be fired because thus far Brown has failed to earn his money just as much as Jerome James or Eddy Curry has. Brown leads the league in coaching excuses and whining. Brown has deployed such sound coaching tactics like as honorary starts in your home town and changing starting lineups as though this was a fantasy league. Not to mention the coaching 101 tactic of addressing players concerns in the media before speaking to them about said issue. He has taken a team with more talent than the previous years and broken its morale and driven it in the ground.
So far Riley and Pop in San Antonio have said this is a talented team and should have more wins.
Well...

Get me any defensive player on the roster before we fire Larry. How does the team have more talent when we can't hit a jump shot? Just b/c the players are athletic and younger doesn't mean they are good players. The supposed leader Loserbury has quit on the team. Larry has done a poor job but look at this atrocious roster that isiah has put together.
I want to leave something that's going to stand for a long timeI want to leave a legacy,I want to leave tradition.I want to leave an imprint,a blueprint in terms of how people play, and how they coach and how they respond when they put on the Knick uni.

Would a defensive player help? Yes. Do we have one? No. Does that mean the way to get the players you do have to play you want them to is to disparge and insult them publicly. That does not work in h.s Div III or the pros. You don't have to have coached 26 years to know that.

This is my whole thing....what will satisfy Brown?

What defensive player is so good that he will single handedly save the Knicks next year? It's kinda ridiculous.....

I just don't see it as Isiah's fault. I see it as the team totally giving up on the season and the coach. How many blowouts does the team have to go through? Is that the GM's fault? The players here are all athletic and talented.......defense is what's making them lose? They need a change in the locker room.....

I believe defense will come once the offense is gets some type of plan of attack......Brown has had 1,000 different line-ups last time I checked. You would think it was a first year guy that had no NBA experience at the helm.

Look at how many assistant coaches the Knicks have.....it's a disgrace.

whats actually funny is that the closest thing to an actual "team" that Isiah had was we Marbury, Frank, Shandon, KVH, Deke, Kurt, Harrington and Doleac with H20 hurt. That team actually played very well and had a nice run together. Then the rest is history.

Eny, what about this Jalen/Stevie BS with Zeke? This is what pushed me over the edge. He doesn't seem like he's ever going to get it. He keeps compounding his mistakes and sticking us with more starphucking losers that cost more money than everyone on this board together would ever see in the next 5 lifetimes.
