When this offseason arrives who would you rather keep and why?

Personally i'd keep francis...he isnt as great as marbury but he seems much more spirited and emotional on the floor...when a couple of our guys missed shots or picked up fouls he was talking to them and letting them know what was wrong...im hoping marbury is out with his shoulder injury for a while to see how the team meshes with francis

ugh. what a choice. I would say Marbury, but everyone on the team seems to hate him. for once I'd like to build with team chemistry in mind.

Francis is a lot more attactive and gets the team more involved and makes things happen. good to see people finally understanding what people mean when they say Marbury doesn't make teammates better and doesn't run plays and make the right passes.

For team chemistry purposes alone, you would have to deal Marbury first.

trade Marbury... that experiment has been a complete & utter failure... i'll take my chances w/Francis (not all that much better an option, but at least i hear positive things about him from his past teammates & coaches)

I think Marbury's a much better passer and has a better jump shot and Francis has a less unattractive contract. I'd trade Francis unless the rumors about Marbury not getting along with teammates are accurate.

what do u mean "rumors"? they're facts when you hear ex-teammates come out publically saying how much happier they are playing with the guy who replaces him... they're facts when you have a guy on your own team waiting hours to kick your arse after practice & having to be told to go home by his sister (as Steven A. Smith reported on his radio show the other day)... there's no "rumors" of anything concerning Marbury... he's not a leader & he's never going to be liked by his teammates.

If you want to play uptempo, francis is the easy choice....

I was just referring to this team, not the past when Marbury was more immature. The SAS rumor is alarming and hopefully just a false rumor. I agree that he's not a leader and probably never will be. I think based on his history, Francis also is not a leader and never will be.

If Larry is staying, Steph should probably go.

That's a good point. Francis also has less milage on his legs since he's played fewer seasons even though they're the same age. I'm not crazy about keeping either but I definitely don't think we should keep both.

Yea, I mean francis was drafted what in 2000? just a year ahead of curry, he is much fresher than marbury, Steve still has springs, and a lot of energy in those legs, although the same age, steve is a much younger 29 than marbury, just like Ben wallace is a much younger 31 than malik rose....

Makes a lot more sense to keep them and build around those two, Frye, and Curry. Screw the rest of this team.

francis is easier to get along with.

better rebounder.

more versatile.

more clutch.

im takin francis.
DLee is the best thing to happen to NY in Isiah's 4 year tenure. And that alone, though a positive on the radar, is sad as hell.

The chances of getting somebody as good or better when trading Marbury and/or Francis is slim and none. Makes more sense to keep them and get right players/system around them (and Frye and Curry). And Francis' rep around the league is just as bad as Marbury's, maybe even worse. So all of this Francis is better for chemistry stuff is hilarious.

1 thing we do know is that Marbury can't lead this team to squat... i think that's why people are saying they'd prefer Francis at this point... the whole Marbury experiment has clearly been a failure.
