I have no idea what we need from the draft. I don't think there is another Frye in the draft that could make a impact. If we dump off some of the guards (craw, Q,) i think Taquan Dean from Louisville is a great choice for the 2nd first rounder. From nbadraft.net they project him in the mid second round, and they say he is a good clutch shooter (they said lights out clutch shooter), hustles, plays hard, shut down defender, good 3 point shooter, and the hardest worker pitino ever saw. He is 6'3 so i dont know where he fits in. Played some good point in college (played against nate in the final four), but he is a combo guard. I assume Dean is in GREAT shape, he has cramps due to non-existent body fat!!! Thats crazy!!!

I have no idea where were going with our first pick (#18 projected)- says Josh Boone from Uconn on nbadraft.net

Hilton Armstrong had 9pts and 8blocks today before picking up his 5th foul late in the game. I'm not sure if he or Boone will be a better fit with the Denver pick, or if either will be there.
lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

physical tough minded guards needed

if Foye or Ager is there with the 1st pick, can't pass.

would love it if we came out the draft with both.

the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

Pretty much whoever is available from UConn or 'Nova would be a good choice. Allen Ray would be good, Boone... I don't think you can go wrong.

I'm not sure where there will be an opening for anone to play.
Alan Hahn: Nate Robinson has been on a ridonkulous scoring tear lately (remember when he couldn't hit Jerome James with a Big Mac in early January?)

nykbasketball, I like Dean too. He can really shot it. With that Denver pick, though, I gotta go with one of the two big men from UConn - Boone or Armstrong if they're still on the board. Didn't see today's Huskies/Wildcats game yet (Tv-Oed it, gonna watch it later) but know the outcome. I think I'd go with Armstrong just on length, quickness, and upside alone over Boone - Armstrong plays with such a quite intensity, his defense in close protecting the goal is just awesome and I think he's only beginning to scratch the surface on what he can eventually do offensively, (we still haven't seen the best from Hilton yet, which is scary because he's a senior) but I now love Boone too. That OT win against the Irish was all Boone - he just willed them to victory. That thing had huge upset written all over it only Boone wouldn't have it. He won me over in that game, he was so impressive... just refused to let his team lose that game. He did all the little things, rebounded and played his ass off on D, timely hoops... Such grit - God forbid any of our bigs on the Knicks ever played like that.

Come draft night, I'd give some thought to trading off that lower SA pick to a team that has two 2nd rounders like Seattle or Utah. Come the 28th pick through mid 2nd round, there's not much of a drop off talent wise imo. I don't care what anyone says, this draft is pretty deep, a much deeper 2nd round anyway than the 2004 draft where we picked up Ariza and the Knicks thought they hit the mega-millions with that pick. Bottom line on that draft is Chris Duhon is the only 2nd round talent who really panned out in the pros, Ariza stinks and this upcoming draft's second round will blow the 2004 draft's second round out of the water. Definitely steals to be had, trust me. Myself, I'd take a chance on two guys in the early to mid 2nd round rather than one guy with that 28/29 pick. Taking a gamble on 2 guys like a Steven Smith, James White, Taquan Dean, some of the European talent, etc. that can fill needs could prove to be a better option over taking a "safe" pick like a Matt Haryasz or Nick Fazekas (guys that probably wouldn't play over Frye and Lee anyway, although with a madman like Brown at the wheel you never know) or an undersized power forward like Marco Killingsworth.

i agree with your analysis of dean, but i just can't see boone being a impact player, or even a role player. He would never play in front of curry or frye. He does not have a NBA body also, he has almost no muscle

josh is a lot bigger in person a legit 6-10+ 245 hes got very wide shoulders with a 7-5 wingspan and quite athletic.I just dont see an athletic big, either of them lasting past 15 at worst. think about how many teams need athletic bigs, even off the bench. there arent many.

If Richard Roby is there, I'd have to take him over everyone mentioned so far. He has the potential to be an athletic version of Houston. We have know one on this team that can consistantly make jumpers.

Two problems however, Roby may not be there by the time we pick, and two, I'm afraid we wont have any picks this yr.

If your speaking of Roby, he plays for Colorado. Lights-out shooter. 6'6 195. Obviously, he can stand to add 15-20 lbs. He has long arms and is wiry strong.

It's gotta be Armstrong if he's there. After the tourney, I don't think he will be.

1.hilton armstrong
2.james white
3.steven smith
no particular order but it's realistic that we can come away w/armstrong (which is a shotblocking big) and a solid wing player like white.
IF a player like ronnie brewer is available i jump on it.

Ill say try to move up a bit to get Sheldan Williams and Marcus Williams. Hilton is a fall back pick. He has a lot of skills that are just burgeoning and you like that he is 6-11 with that frame, but Sheldan is under-rated in a lot of ways. I like the PG, he's shown signs of being a good shooter, hes a tremendous pass first floor general and while he isnt the best 1-1 defender, hes big for a 1 at nearly 6-3.

I think what you are gettuing is the best fundamental pivot 4 and the best fundamental 1. Im going to pass on 2 guards since we just acquired Stevie Franchise.

So, I gues its do what we can to move up

1a would be sheldan williams 1b would be hilton
2b we would need to move this pick up again marcus williams

I would do anything but trade Frye and Lee to come out of this draft with Josh Boone or Shelden Williams.

How about the official - Knicks are getting the #1 pick and then sending it to Chicago thread?
