The Answer Man Misses Herb Williams

Has Larry beaten these guys down that much or complicated the game to the point where they are thinking?

A. A resounding YES

Crawford, eager to please his coach, has allowed his game to shrivel inro a shadow of the flair he demonstrated last season.

The evidence of how the team played when it pushed the ball, even off made baskets, and forced the tempo
cannot be denied.

Snapper Jones stated the obvious in a game that was there for the winning.

Steve Francis' basket at the buzzer, in a freeer world, was the game winner.

If Larry Brown were Lenny Wilkens, people would be up in ARMS talking about how the game has passed him by. Playing Mo Taylor and Malik Rose when you could have put the fluid Qyntel Woods on Kristic, is just plain nuts - and damn stubborn

Brown is the one who needs to catch up to a new style that Francis and Marbury are eager to play.

It is HIS responsibility to inspire his team and lead.

What is Larry's plan?

Knicksfan - you must be wshing for the return of Clarence Weatherspoon, Chollie Ward and Howard Eisley.

The Knicks HAVE talented players, but thanks to the single-minded mantra of Larry Brown, the confidence and rhythm are shot to pieces

misterearl, gimmeabreak. first game with no practices for Francis, Marbury is rusty. weren't you saying what a brilliant trade this was? give it more than 2 hours on the court, why don't ya?

how can you have confidence and rhythm without knowing each other? were you expecting a playoff run?

You would rarely see me here defending Larry Brown....My problem with him is that he is inflexible...Say what you want about Marbs, I think he is right..Let them run or better yet implement Herb's uptempo offense..please....I think we have to see what Larry can do with this team....I think you really had a chance to see the talent level of the Knicks tonight...They didn't play well but we can see what different individuals have to offer to this ball club...

Now if you ask me, this is a big second half for Larry....If he can't get improvement from this group of talented players, then this is really telling....I think that the Knicks are so financially inflexible and even more so with Larry's last two trades, we can only expect Larry to fall on the sword and set this team free to run with Herb.......

yeah, isiah's plan is young and athletic...it's time to get off of zeke's jock...the team is assembled...every time someone says something like "the bulls have duhon" I'm like, so the eff what...we've got Starbury, Franchise, JRose...bonafide all stars.

So, Zeke has done his job, he's gotten the best players out there.

it's time for larry to do his job...win with what he's got.

Phil Jackson did it, and others have...it's time for larry to start coaching to his players.

Plain and simple.

QWoods...no where to be seen...Frye still playing less minutes than he should. All in all, i think brown did have a good point, you need stops to run...well, ask phoenix and seattle and dallas about that.
all kool aid all the time.

the Knicks ran tonight, when they got stops and turnovers. you want to run more? force more than 12 TOs on the Nets. rebound the ball better.

you know what kills the Knicks fluidity? leading the league in fouls and the other team spending half the night at the free throw line.

you can't just magically decide to run. you have to defend, get the ball and stop fouling.

crzymdups - I have no problem with how Francis played.

As a matter of fact, he made a strong opening case for team leader

My issue is simple, How can Brown NOT play Qyntel on Kristic for at LEAST 10-12 minutes?

wow!

the game has passed by a coach who spent his last 2 years winning 1 title and in a dogfight down to the wire for another.

The Answerman has just become as useful as a horse with a broken leg.

the stop underrating David Lee movement 1. FIRE MIKE 2. HIRE MULLIN 3. PAY AVERY 4. FREE NATE!!!

I don't understand why LB can't turn perennial losers into winners. I can't be that hard.

6' 8 220 lb Qyntel on 7 ' 250 lb Krstic. 11-11 over guys much bigger and stronger wasn't impressive enough?

Fear of Failure

I don't deny that and Brown isn't exused from that, but he isn't the only thing. And honestly, you know what if these players are scared get them out of here. Was Iverson afraid? Was Chancey? Was Rasheed? Was Reggie Miller? LB asks a lot and is critical, but he is asking for the right things.

That deer in the headlights look would go away real quick with a win.

that Francis jumper (which would have been contested if it mattered) wouldn't have been needed if the Knicks hit, say, 10 of those 15 FTs they missed.

cryzy - you missed my point entirely

what was your point? that you can win with this roster in NBA Live so why can't Larry Brown? Is Larry supposed to rub some magical healing balm on Marbury's shoulder? Is he supposed to give QRich, a 6 yr vet and 3pt champ and starter on a 62-win conference finalist, shooting lessons?

everyone is gonna have a different reason for the losses when they lose. If Marbury and Francis click, they'll win, if they don't ready for more trades and a new "plan" this summer.
