Alright, I've seen all the rumors and now I'm throwing my attempt at a trade where the Knicks obtain Kevin Garnett. Now do I think this is a realistic deal? I don't know, just the thought of trading Kevin Garnett sounds kind of crazy to me but I've taken into account the Knicks needs, the T'Wolves needs and a third team, the Lakers needs. So here we go. By the way, I know alot don't like the idea of getting Garnett in the first place but oh well I guess. This deal works on RealGM, ID#2991384 if you care to check.
Knicks
Trade: Maurice Taylor, Jamal Crawford, Channing Frye
Recieve: Kevin Garnett, Min 2008 #1
Starting lineup: Marbury/Francis/Rose/Garnett/Curry
Why: For the Knicks, it's obvious. Isiah and Larry want to win and they want to win now. Larry is a great coach but it's well known that he wants to win and by obtaining Kevin Garnett and also having Steve Francis the Knicks would certainly be a contender next year and would also have an outside shot of making a run to the playoffs this year. Basically the Knicks would matter again and would be able to win every time they stepped on the floor. Downside they lose Frye.
Lakers
Trade: Lamar Odom
Recieve: Jamal Crawford, Trenton Hassell, Eddie Griffin
Starting lineup: Smush/Kobe/Hassell/Brown/Griffin or Mihm
Why: It's well known that the Lakers have been trying to unload Lamar Odom. Him and Kobe just aren't meshing well together and the Lakers nearly traded him to the Knicks already. If this deal was made, the Lakers would be obtaining alot of depth to lenghthen their roster and 2 defensive minded players minded players in Hassel and Griffin. Hassell can take the defensive load off of Kobe.
T'Wolves
Trade: Kevin Garnett, Trenton Hassell, Eddie Griffin
Recieve: Maurice Taylor, Channing Frye, Lamar Odom, LAL 2007 #1
Starting lineup: Jaric/Davis/Odom/Frye/Blount
Why: Why for the T'Wolves? The KG era in Minnesota might be coming to an end. Garnett has given the city his all and the team has tried to build around but things have just not worked out. By getting a package of Lamar Odom and Channing Frye, Min can now build around these 2 players and Ricky Davis. This trade also gives Minnesota a expiring contract in Taylor at next years deadline or they can just let him expire and be on the books for 43 million in 07/08, giving them plenty of capspace. Plus they get a #1 for next years draft which has the potential to be big.
As I said, just my attempt, I think this trade is pretty fair for all teams. I know Minnesota is giving up the best player but they are also getting back a top young player and a very good player in Odom. I think the Knicks would jump at this deal, even if they have to give up Frye becuase LB, Isiah, and Uncle Jimmy Dolan all want to win and they want to win now.

Edit: I'd also look into this trade during the summer since it would be extremely tough for the Lakers and the T'Wolves to make a trade like this midseason. This could have the makings of a summer deal and the trade would still work on all accounts.
