Is David Lee untouchable?

I think I know how most of the guys on this site seem to feel - most of us would like to see David Lee kept. But how does the Knicks organization feel? Will they include Lee in an upcoming deal, especially considering that Larry Brown probably doesn't want to work with rookies? Are we over-rating him in saying he shouldn't be included in this or that deal? Maybe he'd be better of elsewhere where he might get more PT?

i'd like to think he's untouchable, but i dont think management feels the same way.

I think so too. I hope I'm wrong, but if history is any guide, he'll be included in a deal for a more experienced player.

No one should be untouchable, but given the way Larry allots playing time, he would appear to be undervalued by him.

i agree, many overrate him here, but i'm not going to give away a potential 10&10+ guy. he could already average close to 10rpg given the minutes. but holding out for kg, pierce, mcgrady is crazy.

Yeah, I don't think he'll ever average a double-double but he's valuable, especially because he's Channing's best friend in the whole wide world!

Lee is tough, he passes, and he attempts to play D. How many Knicks can you say that about?

I don't understand how Lee went from the "next Bobby Jones" to LB's doghouse...does the guy not bring it in practice? Any theories?

How about this. David Lee is a good kid and has a chance to be a good player who is showing to have a real nice work ethic, but is no superstar. I am sure we would all love to keep him and see him develop on our team, and be part of the solution of turning this team around, but like dj said, nobody on a 15 win team is untouchable. If the right player comes up, I'd go for it. I would be sad to see him go though.

I'd like to see the Knicks have a system that lets young players come in and grow, superstars or not. That hasn't been true these past few years. If they can't start to do it this year, with three good rookies, when will they?
