something like
ariza
hardaway for

Foyle 6-11 265
Pietrus 6-6 220
Biendrins 7-0 245
GS 07 restricted to 5

that gets gS down to a 40mm $ cap # next year

we take on salary but its diversified and gives us more assets to work with. two shot blockers, and a permieter defender who is superior to Ariza.

i dunno about that trade specific but i like your overall idea of trading the contract for a youngin and a pick... hard part is finding a good young player with that kind of contract someone is gunna want to part with... and if they are... are they worth taking?!?

I really like Biendrins. Hes a perfect long term compliment with Frye and Curry. He gives you the length and shot blocking that Curry doesnt have and he can play both 4-5.
Pietrus has kind of been hit and miss with injuries and spotty play, but he still a guy who can help a team now, yet also has upside--like a new age Bruce bowen with more athletiscm.

You have to think Taylor is a goner Jerome James=0 and malik rose really isnt a 4. So that would solidify the frontline for a LONG time and we could concnetrate on finding a full-sized 2 and back up PG in the draft this year.

GS wouldn't have anyone left in the middle after that move. I dunno. I think they'd rather salary dump a guy like Dunleavy.

I think Foyle is 30 or 31. I dont know what GS is going to do, truly they are a team in transition. They have roughly 5 PF if you include Biendrins, they are 2 games out of the 8tseed, but they hav a LOT of fat on the roster in a small market. Id be willing to take salary off them if I could get what I want and that would have to include Biendrins Pietrus and a pick. Id take whatever they wanted to get rid of for that package dunleavy murphy foyle which ever one they wanted out the most. even the ****iest guy on the list can play ball, unlike the Penny Hardaway's of the world. If we could make a deal like that could simply stand pat and go into the next draft armed with the ability to move into a position to get a 2 guard and back up PG of our choice.

Id be willing to dump Nate and Ariza to make room--like including them or dumping them off somewhere else. Not saying they are bad players, they just dont fit.

Nice trade, I like that...I also think JR Smith is another viable option from NO.....I don't know if GS will give up Pietrus, but I'll take Richardson and Foyle w/o the pick and Biedrinis.

No, I would have to think their core pieces are Davis and Richardson. Im not going to be unrealistic and still I doubt theyd fork over their prospects anyway-but I would ask:>)

The reason I say about Richardson, is that they see, to want to keep Pietrus and seem to like him more than Richardson for some reason...

From what I've heard Pietrus is more of a staple on that team than Richardson.

what about a trade of Nate for Jarrett Jack? This way we get the player we should've taken in the first place.

Isn't Steve Blake playing PG for Portland now anyways?

Before you said the only choices were Earl Watson/Theo Ratliff or Francis and thus we should go after Francis? Now you agree with me that there are far more options? I'm starting to get dizzy

The one avenue I think the Knicks should look further into is trading Marbury to Minnesota. The problem is, minny doesn't have any expiring contracts to trade back to us so Knicks would need to get a third and or a fourth team involved.

I wouldn't mind taking McCants, Griffin and there first round pick. But I dont want Jaric (contract too long) or Hudson. If a third team could offer an expring contract (or one that ends in the summer of 07) I would consider moving Marbury.

Acquiring Marbury kind of got the ball rolling in the salary cap hell were stuck in. Moving him can get the ball rolling the other way.
