"Actually, Jordan was showing patience with his teamates, patience to help a player like Jamal Crawford, a twenty one year old point guard with the bulls, work on some basic skills. According to one report, Jordan and Crawford teamed together for an incredible winning streak one summer day, a confirmation to Jordan that his leading by example could really have an impacton younger players. Crawford thought so too, telling Sports Illustrated, "his shirt was always tucked in perfectly, I came into the gym at 6:30AM and he was already there. The thing he kept telling me was just to be simple and be basic"

Interesting story as Jordan liked playing with craw it seems. Also two points come out of this....

1. Kwame Brown must really suck if someone like crawford can grasp and play with Jordan without backing down

2. Maybe Craw is a late bloomer...or he'll never change

Those are words that should be reserved only for Tim Thomas!!!

I remember Kwame just killed in pre-draft workouts. Washington brought him and Tyson Chandler in for private workouts, and had them play one-on-one. The word out of their camp was that Kwame destroyed him. He was by all accounts supposed to be what Dwight Howard is today.

kwame has no work ethic either...cant beleive some fellow knick brethren wanted him this past offseason....

tim thomas lost at all aspects of life....

How many throw-it-off-the-backboard-back-to-myself-dunks did he attempt last year?

You know what though - I always liked that move from him, because for once he was being deliberate, getting into the paint and finishing a drive with a jam.

Craw still has yet to become a vet. He doesn't have that poise from playing so many NBA games. Jalen rose has it. Ray Allen has it....neither of them did when they were craws age. Even rip Hamilton and billips went through it. Rip could score but he didn't know his strengths. Billips was a street ball player much like craw is. Sooner or later things click in a guys head. Craw shows signs. He shows an incredible court presence but then the next game he is the worst player on the floor.

I have always said fire Larry first cuz its easier. Craw still needs time as do much of the knicks. Larry has them playing his game and not to their strengths.

Oh well. Back to the show.

I thought Ray showed it right away, but I agree with you about the other guys.

It is frustrating that Craw can seem to totally lose it and regress in the span of one game to the next.

I don't think it's so easy to fire Larry. Are you just gonna eat $60M like that? I think there's already credibility problems within as well as outside this organization - I think a move like that could signal that there's zero thought, planning, discipline and long-term view in anything they do.

i would guess isiah would be out before vanilli barring a player revolt and even then, most people would side with larry.

as for craw, this is the same thing they questioned in chicago. our biggest question is do we stick with him? he has shown some great nights followed by stinkers. is that a sign of something positive in the future or is he just inconsistent? this year is tough b/c he's under larry. but last year he was nothing but a chucker. i know isiah wouldn't trade him b/c this was a big move for him. and vanilli does seem to like him so maybe he does stick for a while.
