Could this work?

NYK gets: Lamar Odom and Aaron Mckie

LA Lakers get: Steve Francis, Jerome James, and Trevor Ariza

Orlando gets: Jamal Crawford, David Lee, Devean George, Stanislav Medvedenko a 2nd rd pick from LA Lakers and Cash via NYK

Then Follow up with Denver for:

Kenyon Martin and Earl Watson

Denver gets: Penny’s expiring deal, Nate Robinson plus our SA#1 Pick

C- Curry/Frye/Butler
PF- Martin/Taylor/Rose
SF-Odom/Richardson/Woods
SG-Rose/Mckie
PG-Marbury/Watson

at this point i would gladly do crawford for an ending contract.

lamar odom is over-rated i dont want him.

id like to snag to real high tempo ballers out of this draft

like a richard roby and cedric simmons if you kep having drafts like frye--lee--if we could get these two guys, your teams fortunes can change quickly

look what NO did with two picks david west and C paul.

people poo-poo the draft, they want lamar odom etc.. give up 9 picks yadyada but since isiah gave up all of these picks for marbury and curry, what has that netted the knicks? only criticsm.

Briggs, I think people knocked this draft because it is kind of weak a the top, in other words picks 2-20 can net you similar talent. But In a way if IT can get talent like he did with frye, lee and nate, then we should use the denver pick and the SA pick to add more players, but the key is, do we have the roster room and how will LB mesh with an even younger team? are you suggesting firing LB?

Rumor mill my butt

[Edited by - MisterEarl on 02-18-2006 09:48 AM]

MisterEarl, I don't get it??? Are you implying that the players in my trade are not on the block? Explain Please? I saw today on hoopshype.com that the Lakers are offering Lamar Odom for Steve Francis in some sort of package deal. NY Daily news is saying that we will undoubtedly make a run at Odom at season's end. I know there were early reports out of LA/NY that we were talking about... what it would take to get Odom in NY. The KMart for Penny rumors won't seem to die, all be it in a 3 team swap scenario between Orl, NY and Den.. nevertheless they are out there!

All I did was try to find a plausible scenario in which we'd end up with the players we are rumored to be targeting; and see if it makes sense in the majority of NYK fans eyes. (Obviously it's a short term fix for our problems) But at the very least, it does give LB the type of players he's looking for. Young Vets that understand the game... and you never know if it were to happen, maybe we come out of the cellar and make a real push.

I think its a more than realistic trade scenario.. will it get done? Who know's, but I think it CAN happen as far as who's available and what we are buying and selling. Think about it!

JayNYC - all I'm saying is that the papers create the imaginary deals for one reason, to sell papers.

Ask yourself -

Why are the Knicks a juicy topic on PTI each and every night?

Why are so more trade rumors circulated about the Knicks, historically, than all the other NBA franchises combined?

The reasons the rumors DON'T die is because the press fuels them daily to compete for the attenntion of the rumor-starved fandom, who run to their computers to debate the imaginary deals.

At the height of frenzy, rumors like the rumors of Isiah leaving the Knicks for LA last season, or the Francis "confirmed rumors" of this season are demonized as fact.

I agree. They're ALL plausible.

And until they are done, there are ALL simply rumors, weighted with the expectations of people who could not negotiate their way out of a parking ticket.

Having said that, I like Odom because he's from Queens and he's 6'10.

I don't like KMart because of the knees. We've been down that road with McDyess. Is there a doctor in the house?

I don't like Francis because two shrimps in the backcourt is a recipe for defensive disaster. Clyde (6'4) and The Pearl (6'5) were a good fit on many levels, not the least of which was their intelligence and size.

Let's see what happens

Marv - I go back as far with Pearl as Winston Salem State.

You better check yo'self, before you wreck yo'self.

But no matter what, we still cool

So do I, my good man. Remember the chants of "Jesus, Black Jesus?"

Find me one credible reference to Pearl being 6'5". You won't because there aren't any.
