I have to admit, I got swept up in the blizzard of the Franchise hype yesterday and was openly rooting for the Knicks to pull the trigger on the deal that would have teamed Franchise and Marbury together. Don't get me wrong, Franchise is 2x's the player Craw is, but now that the deal is on hold, I say Isiah nees to give the lakers another call and see if they can Pry Odom free.

Odom is a Larry brown type player. In fact, other than Duncan, I believe Odom recieved the the most minutes on the olympic team and recieved lots of praise from Brown.

In Browns infamous list, he said he wanted a forward who could play Sf and Pf. Not only can he do that, he could also play Point forward, a little SG and could give you a few minutes at the center spot depending on the opposition.

The guy is a threat to get a triple double everytime he steps on the hardwood. He's a ball mover, and will automatically become the teams best passer, rebounder and all around player. His all around ability gives you some many options.

If you saw him in Miami, he was a beast. 17pts, 10rbs, 4ast. He could def put up those numbers here. He's obviously having a tough time fitting in with Kobe. Kobe dominates the ball and its impossible for another wing player to develop playing along side Kobe. Only a big-man or a spot up shooter can excel playing alongside Kobe.

For Odom, I'd offer a Craw (Phil said he wanted more backcourt help), Penny & either Lee, Ariza or Nate.

Lakers want Frye for Odom... there's no way this trade should even be considered.

If the lakers would leave frye out of any deals, Odom would be a nice fit, he can do so many things, multi skilled player with size..

Nuggets want Frye for an injured player who limps like he's carrying his big contract on his shoulders.

This doesn't mean that as the deadline comes to a close, that the Lakers or Denver wont come off their stance and take Lee and or a draft pick instead of Frye. It's obvious the lakers and the Nuggets want to rid them selves of these contracts. So the ball is in the Knicks court. I don;t want know part of Kmart, but Odom is someone I would be monitoring.

I would say next yr or this summer Lakers may back off on Frye because its clear they want to make a big push at Bosh. Only way to get him is to move Odom and there aren;t too many teams that can absorb his contract.

If the Craw/Ariza/Penny package is enough to get Odom, I'd definitely prefer to him Francis.

i wouldn't give up Lee for Odom either to tell u the truth... i only give up Lee for a player who will bring some real toughness & attitude to this team & can impact the outcome of the game on both ends of the floor... KMart, if healthy, can do all that for you... Odom's soft in my view... i wouldn't give up either of our 2 best young players for him in a trade... just my own personal opinion.

If Larry wants Oh-Dumb, thats good enough for me.

Two things. Don't move Frye or DLee.

Move Nate, Craw, Reezy if deemed undesirable, picks, Anfernee, I don't care. Not those two.

Move Butler if need be.

ANd I would hope we can get Bynum also. Briggs would be happy. I would be happy for him!

If we get Odom we should move Frye OR Lee since no one of them is going to get much playing time.
I'm not even saying it would be good or bad, just a thought.

I think Frye and Lee can still get minutes with Odom here because Odom may get most of his minutes at the SF pos.

BTW, you have to give something to get something. If we don't give up Frye, we most certainly would have to include Lee in a deal for Odom. He's 26, I think I would have to do it. Odom's presence helps Frye and Curry because he's such a good rebounder.

Plus, with Odom here, JRose becomes expendable, and I'm sure his exipiring contract will become extremley attractive next yr while all these team will be trying to clear cap space for free agents to be (Lebron, Melo, Bosh etc.)

I love Odom game and would be willing to move Lee to get him. I'm very worried about his pot smoking in New York.

to me, Odom is Tim Thomas- gifted athlete that has so much potential.

Honestly, neither Odom or Francis puts us over the top-I think Francis helps more because its the back court hurting for talent, not the front court where I'm happy with Lee, Frye, Curry & Mo T, and now Woods & Jalen at the 3.

Odom is a much better player than Tim Thomas. Odom led that young Miami team to the playoffs. Tim thomas has never done anything of significance in his career or come close to putting up numbers like 17pts, 10rbs and 4ast in one season.

True, we need help in the backcourt, but we also need a SF. Rose is 33 and will probably be traded next yr with his expiring contract. Odom is 26, can play Pf, Sf, Sg, and center depending on who he is playing against. At this point, Odom is better than anything we have in the front court.

I'll take Odom, I don't think he gets enough respect on this board. He's a player that fills up the boxscore and it really is tough to put up any kind of #s when you're playing next to a guy averaging 35+ppg. Odom fills up the boxscore and creates matchup problems, I'd love to have him here. I would NOT do a deal of Penny/Frye for Odom but if Bynum was thrown in then I would have to heavily consider that.

i always loved odom as a basketball player. he is a complete player who can do everything the coach ask for. but after a season and a half with kobe and coming to blows with him, do you think he will get along better with marbury who seems to have more enemies? my biggest belief with the problem with this team are desire and CHEMISTRY. desire is understanding since we have young kids playing key positions. however, we can not affect the chemistry by making it worse. i may be wrong. odom and kobe put aside their differences and developing a successful season as well as doing the same thing in miami. but it could easily blow up in our face.

Odom is the ultimate chemistry guy. He can do whatever you need him to do: rebound, pass, score.....and can fit seemingly into any system.

Kobe like AI is very hard to play with. Not only is Kobe a nut (chucker) but he's very demanding and wont hesitate to put down his teamates if they make one mistake in his eyes. Odom is a good enough player to stand up to Kobe, unlike a Devan George or someone like that.

Actually I always like odom, I even made the comment that Odom paired with shaq could win a ring, maybe I was going a bit overboard, but that is how I was on odom...

that is so true, smush parker(mck-1's favorite player ) missed two FT's last night vs the hawks in the 4th quarter, the camera was on Kobe and the announcers noticed he gave smush this eat shyt and die look. Kobe gets fouled and goes to the line and misses two big FT's in a row himself, the announcers joked, "go ahead smush, give him the look".. LOL.. the announcers were also calling the game by saying Atlanta is beating Kobe...LOL!!

Knicks have to get in on the Orlando/Lakers trade proposal. I doubt Orlnado wants to take back Odom's salary.

Knicks get: Odom & Filler (George)
Orlando gets: Penny, Jamal, Lee
Lakers get: Francis

For those of you don't think Odom is that good, go ask Larry Brown about Odom. Brown is quoted as saying that Odom along with AK47 are the two most underated players in the NBA.
